Atlas V has completed its final mission for Amazon Leo, and we've established contact with all 29 satellites in low Earth orbit, bringing us to 375+ spacecraft in orbit. Next up with United Launch Alliance (ULA): The first of 38 Leo missions on its new Vulcan rocket, which will carry 40+ satellites to orbit, and support a higher cadence of Leo missions from Space Launch Complex-41 as we prepare to roll out service to customers.

Osama Bilal reposted thisOsama Bilal reposted thisAmazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Continuum for code vulnerabilities, now available in gated preview, a system designed to address the full lifecycle of a code vulnerability at machine speed from discovery through to remediation. Built on lessons from securing AWS and Amazon, Continuum reasons over an organisation's full environment, including infrastructure, permissions, network topology, code and unstructured data such as documents and business priorities, to understand context rather than apply generic rules. The system operates across four continuous phases: discovery, which ingests existing backlogs and performs its own vulnerability scans; prioritisation, which evaluates each finding based on business impact; validation, which surfaces false positives and constructs working exploit examples in a sandboxed environment; and mitigation and remediation, which recommends network changes, policy changes or code patches validated against the same system that confirmed the vulnerability. Continuum starts in learn mode with a human in the loop and can be graduated to enforce mode as confidence builds, with remediation increasingly automated based on risk profiles defined by the customer. #AWS #Continuum #CyberSecurity #CodeSecurity #EnterpriseAI

Osama Bilal liked thisOsama Bilal liked thisDays after quitting my job to start my first startup, I spent an entire weekend with a friend building a simulation. He was highly technical, didn’t shy away from complexity, and probably had as much free time as I did back then. I was in the honeymoon phase of startup life. Nothing could go wrong. Every idea felt important. Every problem felt worth solving. And I was having the time of my life. I was building Touch’d, a personal relationship manager. It was a glorified reminders app designed to help you stay in touch with your most important contacts. Think of it like a cross between your mother and your conscience, making you feel bad about not meeting your childhood nerd friend enough. We called every nudge to reconnect with someone a “touch.” Quite clever, we thought. I decided we needed to calculate how many touches an average user might receive based on the size and activity of their inner circle, so the notifications would not become overwhelming. So we modelled notification volume over time, debated assumptions, adjusted variables, tested scenarios, and built a fully working simulation in EXCEL! It was hard. It was elegant. It was also completely superfluous. The simulation did nothing for the product or the business. It did not validate demand, solve an urgent customer problem, reduce meaningful risk, or help us make an important product decision. But I do not look back at that weekend with embarrassment. Far from it. It is one of my fondest memories and a brilliant lesson, although one that took me much longer to fully understand. Five more years building that startup, followed by five more years working as a product management consultant. That is how long it took me to appreciate that sophisticated work is not necessarily valuable, detailed analysis is not necessarily progress, and intellectual effort is not the same as impact. ⠀ Today, before taking on an interesting challenge, I ask: ⠀ Does this problem matter? What decision will this help us make? ⠀ What evidence do we need, and what is the simplest way to get it? ⠀ That last question matters most. ⠀ I am much older, much lazier, and have far more demands on my time and cognitive resources. ⠀ If I could go back, I would start with a reasonable number of notifications, work backwards to determine how many contacts users should add to their inner circle, and use UX design to guide them towards that number. ⠀ Good product work is not measured by how impressive the thinking appears. ⠀ It is measured by whether that thinking leads to a better decision. ⠀ Otherwise, it is just intellectual self-gratification. ⠀ The photos are from that actual weekend: two newly liberated friends proudly presenting an Excel simulation that accomplished almost nothing. ⠀ What is something you once spent far too much time analyzing, only to realize it did not really matter? ⠀ #ProductStrategy #StartupLessons #ProductManagement #FounderJourney
