HR's next big move is from reactive insights to predictive intelligence. Tracy Cote, Chief People Officer at Slickdeals and former CHRO at Zenefits and StockX, outlined HR's next evolution at Emtrain's People Leader Conference. "There's an opportunity to move from sort of reactive insights to true predictive intelligence and agentic predictive intelligence where it just happens. We don't even have to tell it what it should be looking for." The shift: Instead of analyzing what already happened, AI can predict what's likely to happen next—and recommend actions to take. "We're getting to a point now where you put the right data into the machine and it will tell you what you need to be worried about. And then, you know, we can supplement those insights with recommendations that will support whatever the area is." The opportunity: HR transforms from a reporting function to a strategic advisor for business performance. Not just "here's what happened last quarter" but "here's what's coming and here's what we should do about it." The data exists. The technology is ready.
