Robert Manuel shared thisAt DePaul, we take pride in creating pathways for our students to learn directly from leaders who are shaping today’s sports landscape. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a remarkable Women in Sports Panel at the University Club, featuring executives from the Chicago Bears. Students asked insightful questions to Bears leaders representing administration and finance, strategy and global affairs, and fan development and brand marketing. Their insights were powerful, offering real-world guidance on leadership, personal branding, and navigating work-life balance in a fast-paced industry. Events like this reflect DePaul’s commitment to supporting our student-athletes and empowering all students pursuing careers in sports management, media, and related fields. Hearing these accomplished professionals speak so openly about their journeys reinforces what we strive to provide every day: access, mentorship, and the confidence to lead. We are grateful for our continued collaboration as the Proud University Partner of the Chicago Bears. Partnerships like this help us expand opportunities for Blue Demons to learn, connect, and envision themselves as the next generation of innovators in sports. I’m inspired by our students and energized by what’s ahead.

Robert Manuel shared thisI am thrilled to welcome Russell Ivy as DePaul University's next provost. Russ brings decades of experience as a successful academic leader, along with a deep commitment to student success and the collaborative spirit needed to continue advancing our academic mission while supporting the work of our faculty. I was impressed with Russ’ tenure at Florida Atlantic University leading key academic policy initiatives and advancing efforts to strengthen student learning outcomes. At a time of rapid change in higher education, we must continue to strengthen academic excellence while expanding opportunity for our students. Please join me in welcoming Russ to the Blue Demon family! Read more: https://lnkd.in/gacCnFES

Robert Manuel shared thisHosting the Opus Prize is a profound honor for DePaul. Our Vincentian mission calls on us to act boldly in service of human dignity — and the Opus Prize reflects that same conviction on a global scale. The annual prize honors individuals and organizations whose work, rooted in any faith tradition, addresses the most persistent social challenges of our time. The Opus Prize Foundation gives a $1 million award to the laureate and two $100,000 awards for finalists. I’m especially proud that this work will be shaped by our entire university community, including our Board of Trustees, and that DePaul students will serve as ambassadors during finalist site visits alongside faculty and staff. Our theme for this year’s prize, “Uplifting the Dignity of All,” reflects our Catholic, Vincentian values and commitment to advancing human dignity through education and service. Together, we will lift up extraordinary leaders from around the world whose faith-inspired work is transforming lives and renewing hope. Read more about the prize and stay tuned for how you can participate in the Opus Prize celebrations at DePaul. https://lnkd.in/d5gXxNYy

Robert Manuel shared thisOur Catholic, Vincentian mission calls us to be present in the communities we serve — not as observers, but as active collaborators working toward a more just and equitable society. Every day, our students, faculty and staff embody this commitment. In recognition of this commitment, DePaul University has once again been awarded the prestigious Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, our third recognition since the designation was created in 2006. This honor affirms something fundamental about who we are: a university deeply rooted in service, partnership and purpose. Robert Manuel shared thisRod Strickland is one of the most iconic players in DePaul history. To celebrate this legendary Blue Demon, we recently raised his jersey to the rafters at Wintrust Arena. From leading DePaul’s Men’s Basketball team to multiple NCAA Tournament runs to an outstanding 17-year NBA career, Rod’s influence on the game is undeniable. His legacy continues today through his leadership and coaching. Congratulations, Rod, on this well-deserved recognition!

Robert Manuel shared thisIt was an honor to be in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the NAICU - National Association of Independent Colleges & Universities 50th anniversary. NAICU has been a steady and effective voice in Washington, shaping federal policy, protecting institutional independence, and expanding access and opportunity for students across the country. None of this progress would be possible without the university and college presidents, faculty, students, partners, and advocates who continue to champion the mission of independent higher education. This milestone is not only a moment to reflect but also a reminder of our shared responsibility to carry the work forward. As board chair for NAICU, I am proud of this legacy of advocacy. The challenges facing higher education remain complex, but one thing that will not change is the strength and commitment of this community.

Robert Manuel shared thisCongratulations to Demetrios (Jim) G. Logothetis on being sworn in as Chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)! Jim is a former DePaul trustee and alumnus of the DePaul Driehaus College of Business, and we couldn’t be prouder that he’s taken on this extraordinary responsibility. His appointment marks a significant moment in the accounting world, given the board’s role in establishing the audit rules and standards that sustain trust in U.S. capital markets. Jim’s decades of leadership, integrity, and service make him exceptionally well suited for this national role. Please join me in congratulating Jim on this remarkable achievement and important milestone for the profession. https://lnkd.in/gFZx2cVSJim Logothetis Named PCAOB Chairman for US Audits Board - GreekReporter.comJim Logothetis Named PCAOB Chairman for US Audits Board - GreekReporter.com

Robert Manuel reposted thisRobert Manuel reposted thisI went to my first DePaul basketball game and it ended up being much more than just a game. Huge thank you to Andy Clark, my Sport Management professor, for constantly pushing us to show up, get involved, and actually experience the industry we’re studying. Being in the building reminded me why I chose this path. Shoutout to Kevin Kearns from my Sales Fundamentals class for challenging me to sell myself more. That lesson hit differently when I found myself sitting courtside having real conversations that started simply because I showed up and introduced myself. And most importantly, thank you to DePaul President Robert Manuel for inviting me to sit courtside and take the time to talk with me about politics, sports, the future of DePaul, and my own goals. Having that kind of access and genuine conversation as a student is something I don’t take lightly. That conversation helped solidify a big decision: after graduating in June 2026, I plan to pursue my Master’s in Digital Marketing at DePaul. Sometimes all it takes is showing up. Grateful for professors who push, leaders who listen, and a university that creates opportunities like this. Go Blue Demons.

Robert Manuel shared thisA huge shoutout to men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann for the great work he’s been doing at DePaul. From revitalizing the energy at Wintrust Arena to personally investing in students and rebuilding belief in the program, his contribution in just two seasons has been remarkable. It’s not just about wins, but about leadership, connection, and changing the narrative. A heartfelt thank you to Chris for all that he’s done so far for the basketball program and for DePaul. If you want to read about how he’s doing it, take a look at this wonderful article from the Chicago Tribune. And join us at Wintrust Arena for an upcoming game. Robert Manuel liked thisWhat a full circle moment to receive the 2026 Madam CJ Walker - Woman of the Year Award from the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) at their Minority Achievement Awards Gala. CLD has been a part of my life for over 30 years. I was a 1993 graduate of their Self Discovery program, and I also received a $2500 college scholarship from CLD as a high school senior. I’ve stayed connected to the organization through the years as a facilitator, speaker and supporter for many of their youth programs. CLD, thank you for investing in me and many others through the years. I hope you see the positive return on your investment. #CLD #Leadership #Community #ROI

Robert Manuel liked thisRobert Manuel liked thisHere's to the end of an era... This weekend marks the completion of my second and final season working as a student manager for the DePaul Women's Basketball Team. No amount of words can describe the immense gratitude I have for this team along with all the opportunities I have been presented with in the last couple of years. I have been able to travel to multiple different states I have never been before, step foot into different arenas, and most importantly, fall back in love with a sport I grew up playing. I wanted to share a few words of appreciation for those who made a huge impact as part of this team. Firstly, thank you Kevin Schwartz for taking a chance on my little sophomore year self that one day in February - if you told me that my life would be revolving around working for a sports team two years ago, I would have probably laughed in your face but here I am now. Thank you to all the coaches, support staff, and previous managers I have had the honour to work with over the past few years. Thank you to Josiah Turner-Mister, M.S. for continuously having my back everyday, even when the days get tough, and thank you for being the most supportive supervisor in the business! Thank you to Jill Hollembeak, for your constant love and support, not just on a professional level, but also personally. Your presence will always bring joy to me and I will carry it with me in this next chapter. Lastly, thank you to Coach Jill M. Pizzotti for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to work under your leadership and coaching (I cannot make no promises that I will not accidentally let the horn go off with the clock ever again). Being a Woman in Sports is never a consistent and linear journey but every step, emotion, and milestone is worth fighting for everyday. I am and will always be eternally grateful to be able to spend my days with the group of people I can call a family. Blue Demon Nation, it has been my pleasure to spend every week for the last 2 seasons with you and I will miss being behind that bench celebrating every charge, bucket, and my personal favourite, the 'and one' fouls. This is not a goodbye just yet, who knows, you may see me in the stands next season cheering you on! DePaul University Athletics

🚨 Ohio districts must adopt an AI use policy by July 1, 2026 — and the state’s model policy is coming December 31, 2025. What does this mean for school leaders, related service providers, and educators? There’s still time to shape a locally responsive policy But waiting too long may mean defaulting to a generic state model Critical issues like student data privacy, bias prevention, and SPED protections often get overlooked unless addressed directly 💡 I wrote a short overview for district leaders to help them navigate this timeline: 👉 Read the full blog post: https://lnkd.in/gfZMmXVR If you’re working on this at the district or ESC level, I’d be glad to connect. I help districts translate Ohio’s AI Toolkit into actionable, compliance-ready policies and training plans. Let’s talk if it’d be helpful. #AIinEducation #EdTech #SchoolLeadership #Policy #SpecialEducation #OhioEducation #MTSS #DataPrivacy #AIethics

The dialogue about AI in higher ed often focuses on student use of generative AI tools and academic policies - and increasingly, exploring how AI can be applied in higher ed administration. But let's not forget the need for faculty development, which is also particularly important in the continued shift toward online/digital learning. Glad to contribute to this SHRM article's exploration of this topic: https://lnkd.in/edTYCzgK

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education's FAFSA Completion Dashboard for the 2026-2027 cycle is now live. https://lnkd.in/gg8k__ug This tool provides real-time, transparent insights into FAFSA filing trends for the high school class of 2026 across Indiana disaggregated by school, region, and county. The dashboard allows school leaders and counselors to monitor filing rates and proactively respond to trends that impact students' access to financial aid. Last year, Indiana achieved its statewide goal of 60% FAFSA completion! To recognize this achievement, the Commission is once again awarding a celebratory digital badge to schools that reach the 60% completion mark for the 2026-2027 FAFSA. Schools who achieve this honor will also be mentioned in a press release from the Commission. It is now easier than ever to have students and parents create their StudentAid.gov accounts and finish their FAFSA in one sitting! Outreach Coordinators and partners have had success this fall with students creating their StudentAid.gov accounts, finishing the student section of the FAFSA, and inviting parents (with just an email address) into the form - all during the school day! Don't hesitate to reach out to the great partners around the state to help your students file the FAFSA. Let's continue working together to ensure every eligible Hoosier student files the FAFSA and secures financial aid.

On campus leadership: The linked document is a measured and well articulated statement for shared governance from the Unitversity of Michigan faculty. It points to, and corrects, a fundamental miscalculation that many campus executives are making; namely, that the moment requires bold executive leadership. The moment requires bold distributed decision-making. The faculty are not nieve, even if many of us are not paying enough attention. The tendency of campus executive and boards to see faculty as obstacles at best and other campuses as rivals too best is misguided. Campus cohesion, and sectoral solidarity are the two key ingredients for both survival and successful transformation to fulfill the mission and rebuild trust. https://lnkd.in/gbVbdRMC
