“I supervised Franz who was part of the Systems Engineering team for a nuclear command and control system upgrade for a U.S. Air Force airborne platform. Franz is a dedicated and technically competent engineering professional that has taken on a myriad of design responsibilities and solved many technical problems. Being in a small company requires the wearing of many hats and Franz didn't hesitate to take on a wide range of duties. His responsibilities included (but were not limited to) requirements development and flow down, system level technical documentation, system level design and interconnect specification, box/LRU level design, and hands-on prototype hardware assembly and testing. Franz is also a very detail-oriented person which, combined with his technical expertise, was very valuable to the program in which he worked and the company. For example, Franz caught a circuit design error for a custom military electrical connector with built-in circuitry designed to suppress transient EMP signals. His review caught the error prior to the connector going to production and saved the company >$100k, which is significant for a small company like ART. I would not hesitate to work with Franz again and I highly recommend Franz for any engineering or technical position for which he applies.”
