Christine DiDonato shared thisWhat do you get when you gather 10,000+ Talent Management professionals in one place? Apparently…the same question being asked in dozens of languages: "How do we help people navigate growth when the future keeps changing?" This week at #ATD2026 in Los Angeles, I facilitated a session on Scaling Career Development in the Age of AI and had attendees from Korea, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan, Germany, and beyond. Different industries. Different cultures. Different realities. Yet the conversation sounded surprisingly similar: ❓"How do we help employees find clarity?" ❓"How do we create personalized career development at scale?" ❓"How do we support growth without overwhelming managers?" Despite all our technology, systems, and AI tools, one thing became clear: People aren’t asking for more content. They’re asking for more direction. 💥 Employees are navigating an overwhelming amount of noise—AI disruption, changing roles, uncertainty about the future, and shifting expectations. And organizations everywhere are wrestling with the same challenge: How do we meet the growing demand for career growth without burning out managers or building programs that can’t scale? I also had the chance to learn from some incredible thinkers and practitioners: • Al Dea challenged us to think differently about the future of work and what leaders will need next. • Julie Winkle Giulioni reinforced the evolving pillars of career development in this new world of work. •✨Kassy LaBorie shared creative and practical ways to make virtual learning more engaging, relevant, and human. My biggest takeaway? The future of career development isn't about creating more pathways. It's about creating more clarity. Because in a world of growing uncertainty, clarity may be the most valuable thing organizations can provide. Also great catching up with fellow practioners and solution providers Robert Gadd, Aaron Brown, Devin C. Hughes Emma Strong! #ATD2026 #CareerDevelopment #FutureOfWork #LeadershipDevelopment #AI #LearningAndDevelopment #TalentDevelopment

Christine DiDonato shared thisStop getting into AI situationships. (I’m kidding… but not really.) Lately, I’m seeing organizations rush to “swipe right” on every new AI career tool—before they’ve even defined what their people actually need. That’s a situationship. Superficial. Reactive. Hard to sustain. Here’s the truth: AI won’t fix your career development strategy. It will only amplify what’s already there. → If your foundation is strong, AI scales impact → If your foundation is unclear, AI just accelerates the confusion We’ve become obsessed with the tool. But the real work is clarity. Growth doesn’t come from adding more technology— it comes from removing the noise so people know where to focus. Before you invest in AI, ask: Do our employees actually know how to grow here? I break this down (and share a simple way to assess your foundation) in the blog below. And I’ll be going deeper on this at ATD in LA. Is your AI strategy a long-term commitment… or just a summer fling? 👉 https://lnkd.in/gbqAE4EA #AI #CareerDevelopment #LAndD #Leadership #ATD2026
-
Christine DiDonato shared thisMost of what you’re hearing about AI in L&D is just noise. Every tool claims to "revolutionize" growth. Every platform promises "unprecedented" engagement. But for the L&D leader on the ground? It often just feels like more to manage. True career growth isn't about adding more tech. It's about using the right tech to subtract the friction. I’m cutting through the static at ATD 2026. 🚀 Session: Using AI to Personalize Career Growth: At Scale. We’re moving past the hype and focusing on action-backed data that actually puts employees in the driver’s seat. No more chasing. Let's start leading. (Ahem... and I’m pretty sure we’ll have a lot more fun doing it this way.) See you in LA? #ATD2026 #CareerGrowth #LD #AI #Leadership #CareerRevolution
-
Christine DiDonato shared thisPersonalization at scale sounds great… until you try to operationalize it. How do you make 5,000 employees feel seen, heard, and supported— without hiring 5,000 career coaches? That’s where most organizations get stuck. They have the data. They have the LMS. But they’re missing focus and momentum. Because growth doesn’t come from more content. It comes from clarity. At ATD 2026 International Conference & Exposition, I’m sharing how we’re using AI as a coaching partner—not to replace the human element, but to scale it. From → To Generic pathways → Personalized, inside-out growth Manager-led → Employee-owned More activity → Focused, intentional action AI is the engine. Clarity is the fuel. 📍 Using AI to Personalize Career Growth: At Scale 🗓️ May 18 | 4:30–5:30 PM If you're navigating the pressure to “personalize at scale”—this session is built for you. What’s your biggest hurdle right now? 👇 #ATD2026 #CareerGrowth #AI #LeadershipDevelopment #LAndD

Christine DiDonato shared thisYour career isn't a spectator sport. But most of us are sitting in the stands, waiting for a manager to call our name. We wait for: -> The "right" time. -> The formal performance review. -> Permission to be ambitious. That's the noise. It’s loud, it’s distracting, and it’s keeping you idle. Clarity doesn’t come from waiting for a green light. It comes from the momentum you create when you decide to own the journey yourself. (Ahem, that includes the parts that don’t fit neatly into your current job description.) Real growth isn't about doing more of what you're told. It’s about doing less of the "busy work" and more of the "future-you" work. Are you in the driver’s seat, or just a passenger in your own career? If you’re waiting for someone to hand you the keys, you might be waiting a long time. Inside today's thought: Stop chasing the next title and start leading your own development. What’s one move you’ve made recently that was purely for your growth, not just your company’s needs? #CareerGrowth #Leadership #ProfessionalDevelopment #OwnYourJourney #CareerRevolution #CareerDevelopment
-
Christine DiDonato shared thisMost organizations are asking: “How do we use AI in career development?” A better question is: “Where are our employees stuck?” Because that’s where AI actually creates value. Not as a new system. Not as another tool. But as a way to help people: → clarify what matters → focus their energy → take the next step AI won’t fix your strategy. It will amplify it. Before you invest, take 10 minutes to assess what’s actually working—and what’s not. I break this down (and share a simple way to do it) here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gbqAE4EA #AI #CareerDevelopment #LAndD #Leadership

Christine DiDonato liked thisChristine DiDonato liked thisHow do you move forward in a world of work that won't sit still? That's the question I've been sitting with for the past year and what I set out to answer at #ATD26. In my session Reimagining Talent Development for a Changing World of Work, I made the case that we're living in a liminal moment: the uncomfortable in-between space where the old map, anchored to programs, processes and mindsets of the past, no longer fits the present, and the new one isn't fully written yet. Drawing on my advising, speaking, and podcast work, plus insights from a survey of 252 practitioners (many of you reading this) I shared four practical shifts for talent development professionals (and I would argue, any professional) who want to move forward with purpose: 1. Operate at the top of your license: Identify the highest value work that you can uniquely do 2. Invest in relationships proactively: before you need them (Flip the script on ROI, make the investment before you expect the return…) 3. Look east and west, not just north and south: Expand your aperture to identify signals and opportunities 4. Create your own opportunities: Shift from being a recipient of opportunity, to a creator of opportunity Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to the survey, and shared your perspectives along the way Photo credits: Simone Stolzoff, Emma Strong, and Christine DiDonato The Edge of Work

Leadership is the lever. It drives engagement, team performance, and customer experience. But today’s leaders are under pressure; asked to do more with less, in a volatile economy, amid global uncertainty. They’re in the crunch space. At Cult of Monday, we support leaders through small peer cohorts where they can learn, reflect, and grow together. They access bite-sized learning, real-world scenarios, and, most importantly, each other. Because leadership isn’t a solo sport. And in this environment, connection and clarity matter more than ever. #leadership #development #coaching #learning https://lnkd.in/gw4JRGTr

This is a callout to coaches, consultants, and OD teams supporting leaders as they frame goals for the new year. Before you finalize another Q1 strategy session, bring these five questions into the room: 1. Where did velocity override values in 2025? 2. What are people really feeling (beyond the surveys)? 3. Where do stated values not match lived experience? 4. Are people safe to speak truth in real-time conversations? 5. Has the culture narrative been revisited—or is it outdated? These aren’t soft questions. They’re the ones that determine whether the strategy will stick or quietly stall out. We share an expanded checklist (along with real culture case studies from SAP, Intel, and Amazon) in the latest edition of CultureTalk’s Narrative Intelligence Now newsletter. 🧠 Read the newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/e_nq4t5J 📬 Subscribe for future editions: https://lnkd.in/efnYsfsm

The biggest risk to growth? Not strategy, not funding, but the lack of a clear succession plan. Succession planning isn’t just about replacement — it’s about ensuring leadership continuity, organizational resilience, and long-term growth. Hogan makes a great point: effective planning starts with understanding today’s capabilities and tomorrow’s gaps. At HALO, we see how critical it is to align strategy, leadership, and talent when organizations prepare for what’s next. In this episode, I sit down with Leo Bottary—author of Peernovation and founder of Peernovation, LLC—to explore what truly makes teams thrive in today’s complex and collaborative work environments. With a rich background in CEO advisory groups and an unwavering commitment to psychological safety, Leo brings deep insight into the power of peers to transform team dynamics. From the core principles of servant leadership to the vital role of psychological safety in innovation and performance, Leo shares how the very best teams operate—and how leaders can intentionally create those conditions. In this episode, we cover: – Why psychological safety is not optional—but essential—for thriving teams – The five key factors that underpin peer-powered performance – How peer forums became a blueprint for high-performing teams – The critical difference between collaboration and cooperation – Why leadership is about creating the conditions for others to succeed One of my favourite takeaways? Thriving teams are intentional and create habits and rituals such as celebrating wins, reflect on progress and embed learning. I also love his tips when asking for help, which can feel uncomfortable. This episode is a must-listen for leaders who want to tap into the collective intelligence of their teams and create cultures where accountability, trust, and performance go hand-in-hand. I’d love to hear what stood out for you—let’s connect on LinkedIn and keep the conversation going. #leadership #psychologicalsafety #peerleadership #highperformingteams #peernovation #collaboration #thrivingteams

We’ve just published the fourth article in our AI learning series. This one tackles a hard truth in experiential learning: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Two teams can go through the same simulation and walk away with completely different conclusions. All confident. All inconsistent. Without facilitation: •Learning fragments •Judgment becomes local •Capability drifts The article explores why facilitation is not about delivery or flow, but about developmental alignment. Turning individual insight into shared judgment. Turning simulated performance into real organizational capability. It also draws a clear line between what AI can genuinely support in simulation-based learning and where human facilitation remains essential. Here is the article https://bit.ly/4teZqAa If you work with L&D, simulations, or capability building at scale, I’d be very interested in your perspective.

Your Approach to OD Might Be Costing You Millions (And no, reordering boxes won’t fix it.) Most companies treat Organizational Design like a back-office admin task. 📌 Build the chart. 📌 Assign titles. 📌 Done, right? Wrong! If your OD and L&D strategies aren’t aligned with performance, you’re leaking time, talent, and revenue. Here’s what I’ve learned after 20+ years building high-performing teams and scaling operations 10X: 💥 OD is not a cost center—it’s a revenue lever 💥 L&D isn’t an HR perk—it’s a margin multiplier 💥 Structure drives behavior. Behavior drives performance. When org design is done right: ✅ People move faster, with less friction ✅ Strategy gets executed—not just discussed ✅ Leaders know how to develop talent—not just manage tasks ✅ Culture isn’t just a poster—it’s the playbook And when it’s not? ❌ Decisions bottleneck ❌ Talent turns over ❌ Opportunities get missed ❌ Performance flatlines I wrote a full blog post on how to turn Organizational Design plus L&D into your company’s competitive advantage. I share: 📥 Real examples 📊 Market research 🛠️ Tools that actually work 📈 And a mindset shift every CEO and HR leader needs to make 👇 Read the full post here: Why Organizational Design is a Revenue Lever, Not a Cost Center https://lnkd.in/g-kxwW7w 🔄 Then share it with a leader who’s still duct-taping their org chart together.
