If you enjoy working with data, care about financial stewardship, and constantly look for ways to improve processes, this role offers the opportunity to directly influence treasury strategy within one of the region’s largest and fastest‑growing rural health systems. Aspirus Health is a $3 billion integrated health system serving a 48,000‑square‑mile region across Wisconsin, northeastern Minnesota, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. With 18 hospitals and 130 outpatient locations, Aspirus plays a vital role in delivering care to communities throughout the region. Corporate Treasury is a small but highly collaborative team of five. We serve as strategic thought partners and provide functional leadership in cash operations, banking relationships, treasury accounting and reporting, risk management, governance, and compliance. Our work is organized into two balanced focus areas, allowing each team member to act as a system lead while still participating in cross‑functional initiatives. Every team member is fully cross-trained to expand skills, support engagement, and ensure strong backup coverage for key responsibilities. This position will focus on Treasury Reporting, Risk & Strategy, with primary responsibilities in Treasury Accounting & Reporting, Risk Management, Governance & Compliance, and Process Improvement & Market Awareness. I am so grateful for all the fellow IT professionals that I have worked with in aerospace/McDonnell Douglas, NFL/Green Bay Packers, and hospice services/Unity over these years. Relationships matter and I have been blessed to work with so many great people in these organizations and the many technology vendor partners, fellow companies and professional organizations, and fellow professionals. Family life is so important (Jolene, our 4 adult children, 2 grandchildren and their families) and creating a work-life balance with IT challenges has been difficult at times but those family memories and trips have been so rewarding. As my favorite holiday movie title so clearly depicts in "It's a Wonderful Life" - I have truly experienced a wonderful life in meeting, working, and living my life with so many wonderful people! I walked into HIMSS expecting to hear about the future of AI. Instead, I heard three brutal questions buyers are now using to kill deals: “Show me the ROI.” “Who owns this workflow?” “What breaks if this fails?” Before I even hit the floor, Ayush Jain the CEO of Mindbowser framed it this way—and he was exactly right. Those three questions showed up everywhere. Here’s the post-hype reality: • AI is table stakes. No one cares about your model. What cuts through now: a named customer, a hard number, and a clear before/after. • Proof beats product. athenahealth didn’t win with features—they won with customers telling real outcome stories. That’s the new trust model. • Budgets are shifting to “Broken Ops.” Scheduling. Prior auth. Billing. Triage. Administrative AI is getting funded now. Clinical AI is still gated by risk. • Epic is the operating system. “Epic-first” isn’t a trend—it’s a buying strategy. Integration gets you shortlisted. What you do inside the workflow is where you win. This all points to a bigger shift: We’re entering the era of Invisible Infrastructure The last generation of health tech tried to build destinations—new apps, new logins, new screens. This generation is being pulled into existing workflows. The winners won’t own the screen. They’ll own the logic behind it. That’s the bet we’re making at EpicDX. Not another dashboard. Not another interface. We focus on making the environments teams already live in—especially Epic—smarter, faster, and more profitable. Because in 2026, the biggest companies won’t be the most visible. They’ll be the most embedded. The window for this shift is open—but it won’t stay open long. Will Weider liked thisWill Weider liked thisI’m in the TSA line at IAH. I don’t know where the line starts. I joined it at some point and just trusted the process. That’s on me. I walked… I think two miles. Not through security. Just to reach the end of the line. Two miles to stand behind the last person. I didn’t know we could run out of airport. And no amount of status helps you. TSA Pre? Same line. CLEAR? Same line. I’ve been paying for CLEAR like a gym membership. Turns out it’s exactly like my gym membership. A couple met in front of me. They started talking… and things moved fast. They’re married now. I was the best man. I said yes because… I was available. They had a kid somewhere around Terminal C. I’m the godfather. All those Call the Midwife episodes finally paid off. I rebooked my flight from the line. The flight I was trying to catch just… left. And I thought, “That’s fair.” So I got another one. And I still had time. I saw a pilot get in line behind me. That felt… important. I always thought pilots skipped this part. I thought they had a different door. Like a side entrance. Maybe a wave. But no. He just got in line. Same as me. That changes your expectations. Anyway… I’ve moved about six feet. So things are trending in the right direction.

This recognition means a lot to me because it reflects two things I value: patient safety and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. During a recent ER visit, I identified concerning vital signs and helped initiate rapid care, which ultimately led to a positive patient outcome. Moments like these reinforce why attention to detail and teamwork are so critical in healthcare. I’m grateful to work alongside such a supportive team and to be part of an organization that prioritizes safety and high-reliability principles every day.
