I'm sensing an upswing in the "buy rather than build" momentum of acquisitions in the learning space. Much of it is driven by the unmistakable shift of how L&D should exist and operate within an organization. The acquisition of Elucidat by Learning Pool is a sign of these times. Learning tech providers want to offer everything a company would need to meet the needs of their workforces - and not in a giant, one-stop talent suite kind of way. The LMS hasn't been getting it done. The LXP was a grasp at a moment in time. I think Learning Pool (like many others) is looking to a future where courses born from big authoring tools are no longer the core of the Learning function. Instead, SMEs will be leveraging AI-powered tools to quickly create and deploy content at scale. I think this shows that Learning Pool recognizes the non-future of the LXP as a stand-alone solution, and will leverage Elucidat and The Work Ramp LMS to create a (hopefully) more nimble and impactful learning platform. Seems like a good move to me. But with most of these deals, it comes down to how the tools and businesses get assimilated/integrated. https://lnkd.in/ePxJHWHQ
