Connect your Oracle Recruiting Cloud instance to Recruiter

Last updated: 3 weeks ago

LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect (RSC) integrates LinkedIn Recruiter with Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC), providing real-time candidate data in both systems. With RSC enabled, recruiters can see LinkedIn information (like profiles, InMails, and notes) inside ORC, and view ORC applicant statuses within LinkedIn Recruiter. This guide walks Recruiter admins through activating RSC and the optional ATS-Enabled Reporting in ORC.

Before you begin

Ensure you have the following ready and meet these requirements:

Requirement Details
Admin access You need to be an admin in both Oracle Recruiting Cloud and LinkedIn Recruiter. In LinkedIn, that means a Recruiter seat with admin permissions (e.g. a Hiring Project Creator with admin rights).
LinkedIn contract info Know your LinkedIn Recruiter Contract ID and Contract Name (or dashboard name). You can find these by hovering over your profile photo on the LinkedIn Recruiter homepage..
Supported browser Use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge – and open an Incognito/Private window for the setup. Disable any extensions or settings that block third-party cookies or cross-site tracking (LinkedIn’s integration widget needs cookies to function).
Multiple contracts If your company has multiple LinkedIn Recruiter contracts, you’ll need to configure each contract separately by repeating the activation steps for each one.

Step 1: Activate RSC in Oracle Recruiting Cloud

To activate RSC in Oracle Recruiting Cloud:

  1. Navigate to LinkedIn integration settings: In ORC’s admin interface, go to Setup and Maintenance. Choose Offering: Recruiting and Candidate Experience > Functional Area: Recruiting and Candidate Experience Management > Task: Recruiting Category Provisioning and Configuration. On the Partner Integration Provisioning page, click the Edit icon next to Profile Import Partners.

  2. Create a LinkedIn application (if needed): In the LinkedIn section of the page, if no LinkedIn application is listed, select Create LinkedIn Customer Application. Enter a name (e.g., “ORC LinkedIn Integration”) and the required details (such as whitelisted URLs). Save the application. (If an application is already present, you can skip this step.)

  3. Request the RSC integration: Still in the LinkedIn section, if Recruiter System Connect is not yet activated, click Request Integration. A LinkedIn dialog will open. Select the appropriate LinkedIn contract you want to connect and click Continue. On the product selection screen, check Recruiter System Connect (RSC). (If a LinkedIn Profile Import option is shown, leave it checked – ORC requires Profile Import to be enabled along with RSC.) Submit the request to activate RSC.

  4. Confirm activation: Once you submit the request, LinkedIn will process it. You should see a confirmation or status indicator in ORC’s LinkedIn integration section. No further action is needed immediately; proceed to Step 2 to finalize the setup.

Here's a tip

If the integration connection seems to hang or take too long, look for a Notify ATS button in the LinkedIn widget and click it to refresh the connection. You can also refresh the ORC page after a minute to see if RSC shows as active.

Step 2: Set up RSC integrations in ORC

After requesting RSC, use the LinkedIn onboarding widget in ORC to enable the integration features:

  1. Open the LinkedIn widget: On the same Profile Import Partners page, find the LinkedIn onboarding widget where integration options are listed. Click Choose integrations (if it isn’t already open).

  2. Enable Recruiter System Connect: In the widget, you should see Recruiter System Connect listed. Make sure its checkbox is ticked (it might be selected by default from Step 1).

  3. Review ATS-Enabled Reporting selection (Optional): You will also see ATS-Enabled Reporting listed. By default, this may be pre-selected when you enable RSC. You can leave it checked (recommended if you plan to use LinkedIn’s integrated hiring reports) or uncheck it to skip for now. We cover activating this feature in a later section, so don’t worry if you leave it selected.

  4. Save changes: Click Save changes in the widget to apply the configuration. This will activate the selected LinkedIn integration features in ORC. You should see a message or indication that Recruiter System Connect is now active.

Important to know

If any integration option is grayed out or cannot be selected, it could be that your ORC environment doesn’t support it yet or your user account lacks permission. Contact Oracle Support or your system administrator to enable those features for your instance.

Step 3: Connect ORC user accounts to LinkedIn Recruiter

For RSC to work properly, you need to map LinkedIn Recruiter seats to corresponding ORC user accounts (so each recruiter’s accounts are linked across systems):

  1. Map LinkedIn seats to ORC users: On the LinkedIn integration page in ORC, scroll to LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect Contracts. You should see your LinkedIn Recruiter contract listed (from Step 1). Click Map Users next to that contract.

  2. Fetch LinkedIn users: In the mapping dialog that appears, click Update Recruiter Seats. This will retrieve the list of all users (seat holders) on your LinkedIn Recruiter contract.

  3. Link to ORC accounts: For each LinkedIn Recruiter user in the list, select the matching Oracle Recruiting Cloud user account from the dropdown (this links that LinkedIn account to the person’s ORC account). Map at least one user (yourself or another active recruiter); you can map all relevant recruiters now or later as needed.

  4. Save and activate: After mapping the users, click Save. Then toggle the integration to "Active" (there may be a switch or a prompt to activate the contract). Accept the terms and conditions for RSC to proceed.

  5. Run initial data sync: Once activated, ORC will begin an initial synchronization of data with LinkedIn. To kick this off (if it doesn’t start automatically), go to Scheduled Processes in ORC and run the process called Synchronize LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect. This one-time full sync can take several hours (or longer, depending on data volume). Wait for the sync to complete before trying to access available features.

After the sync completes, Recruiter System Connect is fully set up in ORC. You can now see LinkedIn data (like profile summaries, InMail history, notes) on candidate records in ORC. Likewise, in LinkedIn Recruiter, you’ll see indicators and details for candidates who exist in ORC (for example, application status or tags from ORC).

Activate ATS-Enabled Reporting in ORC

ATS-Enabled Reporting is an optional LinkedIn integration that provides two reports – a Hiring Funnel report and a Source report – combining data from LinkedIn and ORC. These reports give you insights into your recruiting funnel with industry benchmarks and cross-platform metrics. RSC must be enabled before you activate this feature.

To turn on ATS-Enabled Reporting after RSC is set up:

  1. Enable in Oracle Recruiting Cloud: In ORC, return to the LinkedIn onboarding widget (Profile Import Partners page). If you haven’t already enabled ATS-Enabled Reporting in Step 2, check its box now. Then click Save changes. ORC will activate the ATS-Enabled Reporting integration for the LinkedIn contract.

  2. Enable in LinkedIn Recruiter: Next, in LinkedIn Recruiter, go to your Admin Settings and find the ATS Integration section for Oracle Recruiting. There should be an option to activate reporting (for example, a checkbox labeled “Activate Reporting for all contracts” or similar). Check that option and save. This grants LinkedIn permission to generate the integrated reports using your ORC data.

Once ATS-Enabled Reporting is available in both applications, LinkedIn will begin collecting data for the ATS-Enabled Hiring Funnel and ATS-Enabled Source reports. You can access these reports in LinkedIn Recruiter (under the Reports or Analytics section) after some time. The data may take a little while to populate, especially if your team just started using RSC.

Here's a tip

The default access level for RSC data sharing is at the contract level (each LinkedIn contract is managed separately), while ATS-Enabled Reporting works at the company level (aggregating data across all your contracts). This usually doesn’t require extra steps, but please be aware if you manage multiple contracts – the reporting covers the whole company.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Integration options not visible or activation failing: Double-check you have the correct admin permissions in both ORC and LinkedIn. If something is grayed out, you might need to get certain features enabled by Oracle support or ensure your LinkedIn contract is eligible for the integration.
  • LinkedIn widget not loading: This is often a cookie or browser issue. Make sure you’re using a recommended browser in private mode and that LinkedIn cookies aren’t being blocked. Clear your browser cache and try again.
  • Data not syncing or users missing: Confirm that you mapped at least one user and ran the Synchronize LinkedIn RSC process. If some recruiters don’t see data, ensure their LinkedIn seat is mapped to their ORC account. Also, if you have multiple contracts, verify that each contract’s integration was configured and activated.
  • Still stuck? If issues persist, reach out to Oracle Support (for any ORC configuration problems) or LinkedIn Support. LinkedIn’s support for ATS integrations can be contacted via your LinkedIn account team or by email at LTSATSIntegrations@linkedin.com. Provide screenshots or error messages to help them assist you.

By following these steps, you should have successfully connected your Oracle Recruiting Cloud instance with LinkedIn Recruiter through RSC, and optionally enabled ATS-Enabled Reporting for additional insights. This integration will streamline your recruiting workflow and improve visibility across the two platforms.
