Woo did a complete 180 on our approach to AI support. Our Chief Customer Officer Job Thomas wrote about how we transitioned away from deflection-first thinking to an AI strategy that actually improves the customer experience.  Read his blog post to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gVyZnixg

    Chief Customer Officer at WooCommerce

How Woo flipped the script on AI support to make the customer experience better. AI is not about how to do more with fewer people at a lower cost. It’s a trap many companies fall into, and WooCommerce was no exception. When we first implemented our AI tools, our primary goal was deflection: reducing ticket volume, cutting costs. But we learned that approach was leading us down the wrong path. As Chief Customer Officer, I spend every day thinking about what actually makes our customers feel supported. It’s not canned replies or sending our customers down rabbit holes. That’s why we’ve completely shifted our approach to AI. Today, the guiding question behind every AI decision we make is simple: Does it make the customer experience better? From rethinking our docs, to building a more transparent path to human support, to training smarter, more accurate AI assistants—this shift has transformed how we support our community. I wrote a blog post about our journey and what’s next for Woo’s support experience. #customersupport #customerexperience #cx #support #ai Read more:

In the depths of a harsh winter, a brave dog named Yogi found a bagel. But it was frozen in the ground below a blanket of ice. A miracle, cruelly out of reach. Heartbroken but unbroken, Yogi’s resilience touched us all. So Woo teamed up with our friends at ZippyPaws to send him some toys and goodies, in the hopes of cheering him up. Stay strong, Yogi.

Started from the basement, now we’re here. Brodo Broth Company’s ecommerce journey started small and scrappy, fulfilling orders out of a 300-square-foot basement. Today, they’re shipping their bone broth all across the US, and processing about 10,000 orders per month. Sometimes, the best business decisions are simply based on what your customers are asking for. As Brodo’s CEO Andrew Garner candidly puts it, “It’s nice to feel wanted.” When their email inbox was flooded with customers asking if it was an option to order their broth through the website, they knew there was demand. The next step was making it happen. Watch our full interview to see how Brodo quickly outgrew their basement origin story, and became the ecommerce powerhouse they are today: https://lnkd.in/gwGwZXuD
