Huge congratulations to Team RAWR! 🚀 Designing a 65nm CMOS RADAR DSP processor is already a big undertaking for seasoned industry professionals. Watching an undergraduate capstone team manage the entire design and tapeout process but also demonstrate working silicon is next-level. This is also a testament to the incredible talent, hard work, and world-class mentorship coming out of our ECE department at the UCSB College of Engineering with Luke Theogarajan and Ilan Ben-Yaacov ! The future of the semiconductor industry is in great hands.

California dignitaries and scholars from across the country filled the Lobero Theatre on May 27 for the official inauguration of UC Santa Barbara Chancellor Dennis Assanis. The ceremony included elected officials, the University of California Board of Regents, student and staff leaders, and members of UCSB’s Academic Senate and Assanis’s executive leadership team. UC President James Milliken called on 2004 Nobel laureate and #UCSB physics professor David Gross to present Assanis with the Chancellor’s Medal as part of his installation. "This is a moment for big ideas. A moment for the expansion and preservation of knowledge.
