  • Our latest defence contract strengthens European security and reinforces our role as a trusted technology partner to the Bundeswehr. Around 200 highly compact mtu PowerPacks will equip the Puma infantry fighting vehicle with a propulsion system that delivers outstanding power density, reliability and resilience in demanding environments. The upgraded systems featuring the mtu 10V 890 engine increase operational readiness, minimise the risk of breakdowns and ensure that the Puma continues to set the benchmark for modern armoured mobility. Already, we are expanding our production capacity with new manufacturing lines, modern facilities and additional skilled staff to meet rising demand and begin deliveries in 2028. Congratulations to our Orpheus team – last night’s recipients of the Winner’s Award for Defense at the Aviation Week Network’s Laureate Awards. We’re incredibly proud of this team’s remarkable achievements that are driving a paradigm shift in rapid engine development across Rolls-Royce - proving engines can be delivered at pace, with less resources and more cost effectively. They have disrupted traditional ways of thinking, smashed boundaries and silenced sceptics by designing, developing and testing a small turbofan engine in just 18 months. • We’re extending time on wing even further with our latest enhancements on the Trent 1000 XE and Trent 7000. With the phase 2 Durability Enhancement package, we are making carefully engineered refinements to our high pressure turbine blade, unlocking significant durability gains. Small precise changes in specific areas informed by advanced engineering modelling allow us to keep engines on wing longer and our operators flying more profitably. • Our new modular gas engine power plant solution combines resilience, cost-effectiveness and sustainability to drive the energy transition. The modular systems provide backup power for wind, solar and other cleaner energy sources, ensuring fewer disruptions and enhanced grid stability. Already, we’re supporting the German Government’s Power Plant Strategy to deliver anything between 5 and several hundred megawatts depending on fluctuating requirements. We welcome the Government’s response to the Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce review. Abi Clayton, President of Rolls-Royce Submarines said: “The demand for nuclear technology is growing. It is important that UK regulation is rigorous, which is why Rolls-Royce shares the vison and growth ambitions of the Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce. “Their recommendations will enable new nuclear reactor technologies – including submarines and Advanced Modular Reactors – to continue being delivered at pace, while prioritising safety for customers. Rolls-Royce will play its part in implementing the recommendations alongside UK Government and other stakeholders.” Nuclear technology sits at the heart of our business. It underpins what we do to keep the UK safe today and there are many further benefits our nuclear expertise can bring in the future. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/exffXQrK
