The AI revenue engine for essential service industries that keep America running.

About us

We help essential service industries grow on autopilot. Essential services power the real economy. Every one of us interacts with these industries repeatedly throughout our lives. But these large businesses face real-world constraints—human labor, external volatility, compliance, logistics, and physical infrastructure. Their operations are complex and often rely on outdated systems and manual workflows, and they can’t access the frontier technologies that drive digital-first businesses. In a world where startups mostly build for startups, we serve the large enterprises in real industries and end users that keep America running. We're a small team of relentless builders, ex-founders, and immigrants from top CS schools and tech companies who thrive on solving hard problems and making a tangible impact. We are backed by the best investors and founders of our generation.

  • Netic spent last weekend at Hack the North, our first trip to the University of Waterloo! It is the largest hackathon in Canada, and the energy on that campus is hard to describe. Hundreds of students came through our booth, dozens of them walked away in green caps, and our team spent two days talking about what it actually looks like to build AI for the essential service businesses that keep the country running. We also sponsored the BeaverTails! We got some of Waterloo's sharpest minds around two tables for dinner. They came with questions about the hard parts of what we are building, and they had clear ideas about the kind of work they want to own. By Sunday, we had met students we are already looking forward to seeing again, and Netic green was showing up all over campus. Thank you to Hack the North for having us. We are hiring interns, co-ops for all terms, and new grads. The roles are in the comments. Send us a DM if you want to build with us!

  • Some engineers build exactly what the customer asks. Will Furlow builds what they'd ask if they knew what was possible. He came to us from private equity and software consulting, with two computer science degrees from Stanford and a clear idea of the job he wanted: engineering alongside the customer, close enough to hear the problem and to build the answer himself. Netic gave him both, and it gave him the chance to help customers in essential service businesses that keep the country running. Will learned their day-to-day operations and led the implementations that put AI at the front of how they run. He flew across the country to sit with the operators who know this trade best and brought their playbooks straight into the product. What he picks up in one customer's office, he builds into engineering that lifts every business on Netic. He comes with a point of view on what will grow the business, and he stays with it until the numbers move. That's what forward-deployed engineering looks like at Netic. The first meeting, the onboarding, the work onsite, and every optimization after, all owned by our team. Will takes on outsized ownership with every customer he works with, and he's setting the standard for every engineer who joins the Netic team. Will, we're so glad you're building this with us!

  • Welcome to New Neticians (as we call it N²)!

Our biggest cohort start ever. Welcome to New Neticians (as we call it N²) Greg Solovyev, Pau Perng-Hwa Kung, Isaac Na, András Ferenczy, Corinne (Moran) Bechtle, and Laurel Thun! Greg built infrastructure at Airtable and Cloudera. When a pipe bursts at 2am, a family calls our customer, and we must respond. There is no version of that if we're down. Greg has spent his career building systems that don't get to blink. Pau built ML systems at Uber and Snap and is joining our applied AI research team. He shipped models at large scale and now will use his skills helping essential services enterprises have access to frontier tech. András was implementing memory-efficient transformer architecture variants in the NLP Lab at Cornell. He's joining as a forward deployed engineer and will use his deep understanding of ML to help our customers in the middle of America. Isaac comes from Arcus and Addepar. My first engineering intern at Scale worked with him at their startup and wouldn't stop talking about him. It's a small world, and the people you've worked closely with bring you other incredible people. Corinne is joining us from Cobot to do product marketing. I tried to hire her at Scale. She said no. Never give up on great people. Years later, I get to work with her. Laurel is joining our recruiting team from Cornell. She is ready to bring incredible people to create impact for the real world. Welcome all! Welcoming new Neticians is my favorite part of this job.

  • Most people join a company for a role. Charles Ide joined Netic for its mission, then built the role to match it. He was at Scale AI, training frontier agent models, but Charles wanted to build for the real world, not just Silicon Valley labs. One call with Melisa laid out an industry that software had passed over for decades: the essential service businesses that keep the country running, and a plan to build the AI that finally serves them. Melisa couldn't tell him exactly what he'd be doing at Netic, but Charles told her he'd figure it out. A year later, his work runs through every part of the company. Integration work our team once ran by hand: configuring telephony stacks, adding speed to lead vendors, and setting up new tenant data across dozens of disparate systems, was hours of work that now takes a few clicks. Charles got our sales team fluent in the product and the industry they're selling into, and he's become an engineer our customers count on throughout their Netic partnership. Every problem he takes on turns into something durable: a product, a process, a team that can run with it. "I didn't know exactly what I'd be doing here," Charles says. "That was the appeal." The role nobody could define last summer is now an entire function. Charles is building out our forward-deployed engineering team, and he's looking for people who see an undefined problem the way he does, as the best part of the job. Charles, we're so glad you're building this with us!

Netic was founded to power the essential services that keep America running. Technician David Ghahramany has been diagnosing HVAC systems for almost 20 years. KPIX | CBS San Francisco/Bay Area followed him on a no-cooling call and asked what Netic's AI actually changed about his job. "AI makes life much easier for senior techs, so I can focus more on what I do best." Khaled Ghazal, Art of Comfort's CEO, agreed: "We can execute without missing any call." Many people assume AI is only for white collar work. Netic and Art of Comfort's partnership shows that couldn't be further from the truth. We're proud to power essential businesses and help them focus more on what they do best. Full video from CBS below https://lnkd.in/gJWxSGZV

Netic took over an entire padel facility in Dogpatch on Saturday afternoon! It was the last stop in our summer university events series; we enjoyed three hours of padel, ping pong, and cornhole, with the whole place to ourselves. Almost nobody had held a padel racket before, which turned out to be the best possible starting point. Padel is doubles only, so within five minutes everyone had a partner they had just met, and because the ball plays off the glass walls, beginners get a second chance at almost every shot. Points that should have ended after two hits kept going and going. The rallies were friendly and the conversations were friendlier. Between games, conversations kept coming back to the same thing: what excites students about building at a startup. Those are always our favorite. That's a wrap on our summer series. We met so many incredible people across boardgames, pasta making, Magic Night, and now a padel court. We're grateful to everyone who came out. More events are coming in San Francisco this fall. Send us a DM to join the next one, and open roles at Netic are in the comments!

"People think AI is here to replace jobs, or to be more efficient and less connected to your customer. It's completely the opposite." That's Dennis Traina, the third-generation CEO of Tragar Home Services, which provides oil delivery, HVAC, and plumbing across Long Island. World War II veteran John Traina founded Tragar in 1956 on a simple model: when a Long Island home ran out of heat, he showed up with oil in his truck. 70 years later, his grandson Dennis runs the company the same way. Tragar treats every customer as an extension of its Family of Comfort. Scaling that mission got harder over time. Call volume grew faster than a 10-person call center could always support, Tragar’s two core CRMs didn't talk to each other, and after-hours calls went to an ineffective standalone answering service. Netic worked with Tragar to learn how they run, unified its disconnected systems into one view of every customer, and became the first response on every channel. Netic has handled 22,000+ calls with no hold times, captured 6,000+ leads, and retired the answering service. Now every Long Islander gets the family treatment, at any hour, on the first ring. "Netic has been the single most impactful technology investment I've made in the last five years." Dennis says. Read how Tragar scaled the Family of Comfort with AI 👇
