At the Dublin launch of AmCham Ireland’s 2026 'US–Ireland Business Report – A Partnership that Delivers: Supporting Transatlantic Business for the Next Generation', we were delighted to hear from Mark Cockerill, AmCham 2026 President, and SVP, Legal for Corporate, M&A and International Development, ServiceNow, and Davinia Conlan, AmCham Finance Committee Chair and Country Officer for Citi Ireland, in a panel discussion moderated by Colm O'Callaghan. Reflecting on the strength of the transatlantic relationship, Mark noted: “It is often said that Irish hands built America — but it is true today that Irish hands are still building America.” Highlighting the role of Irish enterprise in the US, he pointed to the contribution of Irish companies in areas such as data centre development and critical engineering infrastructure. He also emphasised the importance of ongoing engagement, particularly during St. Patrick’s Week: “It can be very easy to look at it as just the Shamrock ceremony and the bilateral the Taoiseach has with the US President, but it is far deeper and far greater than that. It is the thousands of hours, the connectivity, the partnerships the engagements that it creates.” Looking ahead, Davinia reflected on the significance of Ireland’s upcoming EU Presidency: “The EU Presidency is coming at a really important time in Europe. We all know that competitiveness is a key focus area and needs to be a key focus area." She highlighted the breadth of issues that will shape the agenda, including investment, security and the evolving relationship between the US and Europe. On Ireland’s role as a transatlantic bridge, she noted: “The EU Presidency is a true opportunity for us to highlight the strength of that bridge, or you could say it is a test of the strength of that bridge.” “Ireland has to be forward looking, it has to be neutral, and it has to be a broker and it has to put European interests at the centre of everything they do, and its voice is really important.” A huge thank you to Mark and Davinia for joining us at the Dublin launch of AmCham’s 2026 US-Ireland Business report and to Delta Air Lines Airlines for sponsoring the event.
