Thailand has ordered two additional Airbus #C295, to be operated by the Royal Thai Navy. The aircraft will come in an enhanced transport configuration, which will enable surveillance and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, on top of the logistic operations for the country. With the first delivery scheduled for the end of 2028, the Royal Thai Navy’s C295s, which will operate from the U-Tapao air base in Sattahip, will be equipped with an Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor suite. This will enable them to detect, classify, and identify targets at sea or on land, and operate both in day and night conditions. This order follows a recent contract with the Royal Thai Air Force for two C295s, and adds to the three aircraft that the Royal Thai Army already operate since 2016 for cargo and troop transport missions. Delivering critical support where it is needed most. 🪂 📦 We are incredibly proud to see the Royal Air Force (RAF) #A400M playing such a vital role in this recent humanitarian mission to Tristan da Cunha. ➡️ When time is the most critical factor, the A400M’s ability to deliver specialist personnel and essential medical supplies via parachute is a game-changer 👇 ➡️ When a medical emergency struck Tristan da Cunha, there was no runway and no easy way in. The solution? A daring airborne insertion performed by the A400M. https://lnkd.in/dmVASgqg
9,788km from the UK across the South Atlantic, one operation 🪂 British Army and Royal Air Force (RAF) joined forces to deliver urgent medical supplies to one of the world’s most remote communities, Tristan da Cunha.
