Anyone that’s been following the progress of TEG.tech and Trustd over the past few years will already know of Trustd’s role in reducing – even eliminating – the numerous manual compliance checks that 3PLs need to perform when working with new businesses. While I’m incredibly proud of how much friction that’s already removed from the transport sector, it’s Trustd’s next frontier that I’m so excited about. That frontier is, of course, using Trustd’s digital identity capabilities to give businesses a totally transparent chain of custody across the entire supply chain. Here’s the problem: As things stand, a 3PL might enlist a carrier to collect and deliver goods. That carrier might enlist a subcontractor on that particular day for that particular collection. That subcontractor might break down, forcing the carrier to send a replacement. And on and on the web goes. Now, if a carrier’s subcontractor’s compliant and authorised replacement arrives at a warehouse asking for goods... should the warehouse hand them over? How does the warehouse know who it is they’re expecting to arrive? And these shipments are, of course, time critical. So as things stand, you have a situation where the industry very often must rely on trust when handing over goods. And because bad actors know and exploit this, you get a great deal of friction throughout the entire global logistics sector. Worthwhile partnerships never materialise. Silos remain. 33% of trucks on our roads drive empty at any one time. Trustd’s digital load passes, issued to authorised carriers and accessible only following secure biometric identity checks, now stand poised to solve the issue – for good. The possibilities are, as you can imagine, extremely exciting. I personally cannot wait to see the tech take flight. #transport #logistics #identity #security

In 2026, we're set to release some truly game-changing innovations for the logistics sector that we've been working so hard on for such a long time. For far too long, barriers to collaboration have made it extremely difficult for our sector to unlock the latent capacity that exists in empty HGVs on UK roads. Lyall Cresswell posted thisA recent FinTech Profile interview asked me for an overview of TEG. The question forced me to reflect on TEG’s journey over the last 25 years. Some of the numbers: From a standing start, TEG now helps over 10,000 transport businesses collaborate. Our platform facilitates more than 3 million transport orders annually. Transactions that pass through the platform surpass £600 million annually... and are growing year on year. TEG started at a time when investors were pouring huge sums of money into B2B marketplaces. Many took in huge sums of capital. And so many of them imploded. How did TEG succeed? Bootstrapping helped. TEG was always self-funded. That meant we were never forced to artificially inflate numbers, or follow the latest fashions. Instead, TEG always remained focused on solving real-world transport problems, knowing that was what our market needed. We’re still doing as much today with our two latest developments. And we're still responding only to the market, rather than investors. Lyall Cresswell shared thisHow many 'chase calls' does the average 3PL receive? If a large 3PL works with a large number of suppliers, the answer can be quite shocking. When we were developing SmartPay for the TEG platform, we'd hear horror stories from some big 3PLs about the sheer volume of calls they'd receive regarding settlement dates. Each individual call, from each individual supplier, perhaps only took a minute or two to resolve. But when you add all those minutes up, the drain on resource is actually quite shocking. One of the things I'm really proud of with SmartPay is the level of visibility it's given to both 3PLs and their suppliers. Suppliers invoice through the TEG platform, and 3PLs receive, approve, and even settle invoices through the platform. So should a supplier ever want to see what stage of approval their invoice has reached, there's no need to call or email a customer. It's all self-serve. Carriers simply log into the platform and check their invoice status. This is all part of our ongoing drive to help both buyers of transport capacity and sellers of transport capacity work together without friction for everyone's gain. It is never easy bringing these innovations to life – we're incredibly lucky to have so many talented people shaping TEG products and solutions – but it's always worth it when they're finally out there, solving real-world logistics problems. For those that missed my recent announcement, we’ve got some huge updates planned for TEG in 2026 – All of which will make it even easier and even safer for logistics business to collaborate through the TEG platform. This year, Trustd updates will secure loads at the fleet level. Load passes will grant businesses a 100% transparent chain of custody. SmartPay will continue to eliminate payment barriers. The innovations might seem new, but in reality, they're the culmination of 25 years of working towards a single, unified mission. I'm excited to see them in the wild. #transport #logistics #WeAreTEG

Lyall Cresswell shared thisThe latest transport prices from the TEG Price Index. Normally, we'd see a low in Feb before haulage volumes and prices increase in March. That's still the most likely scenario. But with future oil prices anyone's guess, who knows what will happen next month? Today's uncertain world is yet another reason to begin rethinking the standard transport operating model. Owning your own fleet of vehicles once provided control and certainty. Now, owning so many trucks and vans is risky – what happens if demand drops unexpectedly? By contrast, technology-enabled capacity sourcing is agile and efficient. When demand spikes, you source more on-demand capacity through platforms like TEG. When it inevitably falls, you scale back. Enterprises have been unable to source capacity on demand historically due to compliance and payment complications, but that has changed. It's time we updated our thinking, too! #transport #logistics #supplychain #innovation
