Anybody for an O Licence? Your next consignment could be carried by a completely different subcontractor to the one you onboarded and you wouldn't know until your freight disappears. Say you're a 3PL or freight forwarder subcontracting work to the company below, owned by 'R'. All the signs are good: 🟢 Valid O Licence 🟢 Green OCRS score 🟢 Passed Amazon Relay vetting Like many of the 66k O Licences in the UK, this one's held by an SME with less than five vehicles. Small haulage firms often change hands, bought and sold via social media like the Facebook example below. So, let's say 'R' sell that business to an individual who: 🟠 Has a criminal record tied to freight crime or fraud 🟠 Previously had an O Licence curtailed, suspended or revoked 🟠 Was blacklisted by industry platforms You'd want to know - your customers would expect you to... So what if the sale of the business wasn't reported? 🚛 The Traffic Commissioners' 2024-25 report admitted there's a problem: access credentials to digital services like the Vehicle Operator Licensing system can be, and often are, shared even though they're meant to be kept private. ⚠️ The outcome? Between compliance audits, there's no way to catch out silent changes to operators' businesses. 3PLs and forwarders can easily miss warning signs that their subcontractors aren't who they expect, putting their reputation and their freight at risk. Businesses deserve to know who's carrying their freight. Identity should be the first defence against freight fraud and theft, not a blind spot. Trustd's identity checks catch out bad actors before they get to your freight, by continuously monitoring your network for risk signals. Do you think regulatory compliance audits do enough to support transparent and secure collaboration in the industry? ⬇️ #Haulage #OLicence #FreightFraud #FreightCrime #OCRS #RoadSafety
