We’re creating better places for thriving communities. A huge thank you to our Mitie Technical Services and Network Rail colleagues who volunteered at Crownfield Junior School in Romford. 🌟 Social Value - Making a Difference at Crownfield Junior School: Technical Services Volunteering in Action 🌟 We’re delighted to highlight our Technical Services team’s continued commitment to social value—right here in the local community. Recently, colleagues from Mitie and Network Rail (Romford ROC, One Stratford Place, The Quadrant) joined forces for a hands-on volunteering project at Crownfield Junior School in Romford. Driven by a shared desire to use their professional skills for good, the team spent three days delivering essential maintenance works and painting. Their expertise—and generous material donations—meant the school saved around £5,000 in costs. Who took part? Management, supervisors, engineers, two Mitie apprentices and representatives from both Network Rail and Mitie, highlighting our shared goal to give back to local communities and support Social Value Initiatives together 💪 What did we achieve? ·      ⏲️ 144 volunteering hours delivered ·      🎨 30 metres of corridors refreshed with a new coat of paint ·      🚽 Refurbished girls’ and staff female toilets, plus repairs to the school kitchen ceiling ·      🔨 Mounted 8 new enclosed notice boards and completed additional repairs ·      ✅ Positive impact on 500–600 pupils and 20 staff members Site Manager, Steve Barlex, shared: “Everyone including the parents are very happy to see the upgrade and it makes such a difference to the school. Thank you again and the workforce that attended, very professional and hard working. Plus, there is plenty more that we need urgent help with if Mitie can help us bring this school up to date and in turn make a big impact on the school.” We’re grateful for the opportunity to work together and create a lasting impact. Here’s to more volunteering that makes a real difference!
