Looking back to European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) conference last week in Paris: • LSEG CEO David Schwimmer highlighted the need to mobilise European capital, strengthen pensions, and accelerate integration. He also emphasised the need for centralised supervision, interoperability and the importance of getting technology sovereignty right. • Corentine Poilvet Clediere underlined how fragmented supervision slows time to market and weakens competitiveness. She called for a more unified framework, with fewer national divergences and clearer, more predictable processes. In parallel also published our views on the Market Integration and Supervision Package arguing that market integration and centralised supervision are key enablers for European competitiveness, innovation and financial stability: https://lseg.group/4tTRh3n Thank you to ESMA and all participants for an important discussion shaping Europe’s financial future. #EUcapitalmarkets #ESMA #MarketIntegration #Supervision #Competitiveness #CapitalMarketsUnion #LSEG #FinancialMarkets #EUpolicy #Finance

This week, CEO David Schwimmer joined leaders from across finance and policy to discuss how artificial intelligence is transforming financial markets as part of the 16th annual City Week UK. Alongside Ross Bailey, Global Head of Data & Content Economist Intelligence: EIU, David emphasised that while the pace of change is accelerating, one constant remains: the importance of trusted data. As AI capabilities advance, the quality, integrity and accessibility of data will determine how effectively markets can harness its potential. As geopolitical fragmentation reshapes AI development and reinforces the need for continued innovation, the conversation highlighted the forces transforming financial markets today. City Week provide an important platform to bring together the public and private sectors to navigate these challenges — and to ensure markets continue to evolve in a way that is open, efficient and well functioning. #CityWeekUK #AI #FinancialMarkets #Data #CapitalMarkets
