  • Insurance transformation is accelerating. But is the workforce keeping pace? AI, technology and new operating models are reshaping the capabilities insurance businesses need, putting greater pressure on organisations to make the right decisions around skills, structure and resourcing. In a recent LinkedIn Live, WPR explored what the next phase of insurance transformation means for the workforce behind it, including the changing skills landscape, AI adoption, leadership and the move away from legacy technology. Insurance is transforming. But is its workforce changing quickly enough? Technology, AI and new operating models are changing the capabilities insurance businesses need, and putting new pressure on leaders to make decisions about skills, structure and resourcing before gaps begin to affect delivery. On 16th September, WPR will bring together senior insurance leaders for a live discussion exploring what the next phase of transformation means for the workforce behind it. We’ll look at emerging skills and reskilling, how to compete for specialist capability, and the different ways to access that talent — from building internally and hiring permanently to accessing flexibly. Joining the discussion: Pete King – Chair, Insurance Future Forum Federico Spagnoli - Founder & CEO, Gangkhar Kathryn Edwards - Group Financial Controller, Pinion We want different perspectives, your practical experiences and to explore the questions leaders should be asking now. Register to join.

  • Your actuarial team is critical infrastructure. Yet many insurance businesses approach actuarial capacity reactively rather than strategically. The pressure is already visible across pricing, capital, reserving and regulatory work. But, as Matt Waterworth, Head of Actuarial Practice at IDEX, puts it, the real constraint is often not technical ability. “Technical modeling is not the bottleneck. The issue is finding actuaries who can take that technical expertise and apply it commercially.” That affects underwriting responsiveness, regulatory resilience, succession planning and the ability to execute growth plans. In our latest newsletter, Matt shares what he is seeing across the market, why commercial fluency is becoming more valuable, and what insurance leaders should be thinking about before the next critical vacancy appears.

  • M&A is about more than the transaction. A successful deal isn’t just about completing the acquisition or preparing a business for exit. At IDEX Consulting Ltd, our M&A specialists support businesses looking to grow through acquisition or prepare for an exit, combining specialist market expertise with a network of businesses and decision-makers. • 𝐔𝐊 𝐯𝐬 𝐔𝐒: What’s happening in the Insurance market? Two markets. Two talent landscapes. We spoke to Drew Crawford ⚓️, who specialises in the US Insurance market, to get his perspective on the talent landscape, what’s changing and how the UK and US markets compare. From the ongoing competition for experienced talent and the growing prevalence of equity, to the entrepreneurial mindset required across the US market, there are some clear differences, as well as shared challenges. One theme stands out: businesses need to be clear on their “𝐰𝐡𝐲”. For high-value individuals who are already well looked after, attracting them isn’t simply about the package. It’s about showing them the opportunity, the progression and what their future could look like within the business. Swipe to hear Drew’s insights on the UK vs US insurance market. #Insurance #GeneralInsurance #USInsurance #UKInsurance #InsuranceMarket #TalentStrategy #InsuranceRecruitment #IDEXConsulting

  • The WPR View: Three things we're seeing in the Transformation market. Transformation is increasingly being driven by commercial outcomes, not just technical delivery. Across the market, we're seeing businesses focus on modernising legacy systems, improving customer journeys, investing in data and automation, and building the agility needed to respond to change. At the same time, demand is growing for transformation leaders and hybrid professionals who can connect strategy, technology, commercial objectives and people. And while technology continues to evolve, one thing remains clear: the value of human judgment isn't going away. As our WPR team puts it: “𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞.” #Transformation #ChangeManagement #TransformationLeadership #Insurance #FinancialServices #TalentStrategy #IDEXConsulting

  • Growth requires the right capability. For Financial Services businesses, the question isn’t simply, “Who do we need to hire?” It’s: “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲?” That means looking beyond individual hires and considering leadership, succession, capability and retention as part of the bigger picture. Because the right talent strategy isn’t just about filling roles, it’s about building the people and capability needed to support long-term growth. #financialservices #IDEXconsulting #growth #leadership #strategy
