The Creators of Tomorrow 2026 Closing Ceremony marked the end of Wix’s global youth challenge, where teens aged 15–18 from around the world built websites for real social impact initiatives inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Over the past several weeks, our semifinalists worked closely with Wix mentors to refine and elevate their projects - tackling everything from environmental issues to community-driven initiatives, bringing creativity, purpose, and technology together in ways that genuinely moved us. These aren't just websites. They're real initiatives already making a difference in the world. Built by teenagers, with real purpose behind them. Hey, I’m Noa Nitzan, an Accessibility Expert at Wix. With Global Accessibility Awareness Day approaching, it’s a good time to ask whether AI is truly usable for everyone, and whether site accessibility is keeping up with how fast AI is evolving. Because if people can’t understand, navigate, or perceive what’s happening, even the smartest AI won’t help. So here are a few accessibility gaps that keep showing up in AI interfaces, and are simple to get right 👇 ↳ Clarity wins In AI interfaces, if it’s unclear what prompt to write or what the system expects, users will guess - and that quickly leads to frustration. Users should always easily understand what to do and what input is expected. Clear titles, labels, and short instructions can make all the difference. ↳ Contrast matters Placeholder text is often styled too lightly to serve as a hint or example, making it hard for some users to see. Use at least 4.5:1 contrast for placeholder or hint text, and a clearly visible 3:1 contrast border for the chat input field. ↳ Say what’s happening Content updates dynamically, but these changes are not always exposed to screen readers.Make system status clear, and announce all states to screen readers (start, in progress, done). ↳ Name every action If a button doesn’t have a clear name, it effectively doesn’t exist for screen readers.Provide clear and descriptive accessible names for all interactive elements. ↳ Keyboard is not optional For users who rely on a keyboard only, the experience can quickly become slow, frustrating, or even impossible. Ensure full keyboard access, efficient navigation (including shortcuts and skips), clear focus, and controls to pause or stop actions. The opportunity is huge, AI can remove barriers, but only if we design it that way.

Last week we hosted the 2026 Wix Engineering Conference, and it was one of our biggest yet. A full day dedicated to how we actually build at Wix, with engineers sharing real work from production, not just ideas, but systems, decisions, and lessons. We opened with a look at how AI is already embedded in our day-to-day work, shaping products and pushing us to rethink how we approach development at scale. From there, the sessions went deep into the details: scaling infrastructure, improving performance, rebuilding core systems, and evolving our developer platform. What stood out most wasn’t just what worked, but what didn’t. Migrations that forced us to rethink everything, incidents that exposed gaps, and the practical takeaways that came from it. We wrapped with a broader look at where engineering is heading next and the technologies that will shape it. Proud of the teams who shared their work and made this happen.👏👏👏
