  • Advancing global arts education together 🌍   The University of the Arts Singapore (UAS), together with LASALLE College of the Arts (LASALLE) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), was honoured to host a delegation from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 15 May 2026. The visit reaffirmed the strong and growing relationship between Singapore and Uzbekistan, while opening up opportunities for future partnerships in global arts education and cultural exchange.   Both Singapore and Uzbekistan share a common goal of building robust human capital. UAS welcomed the opportunity to exchange insights and learn more about Uzbekistan’s strategic priorities for its cultural sector by 2030, including advancing arts talent development, strengthening creative capacity, and cultivating vibrant creative ecosystems.   During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the distinctive academic approaches of LASALLE and NAFA, with a focus on cross disciplinary collaboration and industry connected learning that prepares graduates to address complex global challenges. Discussions also explored how programmes across performing arts, design and animation could support Uzbekistan’s efforts in talent development and creative capacity building.   Building on these conversations, both parties exchanged ideas on potential avenues for future collaboration to advance cultural initiatives and foster a thriving creative economy. We look forward to deepening these connections and working together to support the continued growth of the arts across both countries.   #UniversityoftheArtsSingapore #ArtsEducation #LASALLE #NAFA

  • Singapore's creative industries have doubled in economic value over the past decade. The sector is growing, but employment rates for fresh graduates are declining. The challenge isn't demand. It's preparation. That's why the UAS Career Skills Module integrates industry readiness directly into the student journey, covering personal branding, professional communication, and real-world navigation of the creative sector. Because a great education should end with a great career. Learn more about our approach here: https://lnkd.in/gGXPcsRC #UAS #CreativeEconomy #SingaporeArts #ArtsCareer #BackedByResearch

  • When music, mentorship and place intersect, meaningful connections are made! The University of the Arts Singapore was pleased to support Campus Rhapsody, presented by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in collaboration with the SINGAPORE CHINESE ORCHESTRA (SCO). The concert reflects a shared commitment to nurturing artistic growth through exchange and performance. Held at the National Design Centre, a space closely connected to NAFA’s history, the evening brought together, NAFA School of Music students and SCO musicians in a vibrant showcase of mentorship in practice, where learning and performance converged. Our appreciation to SCO x NAFA and all teams involved for bringing this collaboration to life. #UniversityoftheArtsSingapore #ArtsEducation #NAFA

The arts. 🧠❤️🎨 The University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) hosted a University Fireside Chat, “Neuroscience and Artistic Creativity: A Conversation on the Brain and the Arts”, at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Library on 31 March. The session explored a wide range of ideas, from the latest in neuroimaging to the age-old question of whether the heart is simply “a suburb to the brain,” offering fresh perspectives at the convergence of medicine, neurobiology, and the arts. The panel featured Prof Balázs Guly, neuroscientist and President of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network, alongside A/Prof Laszlo Kiraly, Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the National University Hospital, and was moderated by Prof Kwok Kian Woon, Vice-Chancellor of UAS.
