At the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS), we believe in nurturing not just creative minds, but compassionate hearts. As part of the FRESH (Fresh gRoceries for Every Student’s Home) programme by Children's Wishing Well, the UAS team came together to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing resources to make a difference.   The team accompanied the children on a grocery shopping trip, guiding them on healthier food choices, budgeting, and everyday independence. In addition to this hands-on experience, they also rallied to raise donations, extending our impact beyond the day itself. IN-depth module prep! ✍️ Our IN-depth module facilitators gathered recently for an immersive training session to gear up for the student workshops this August. This training equips our facilitators with the expertise to help students develop key interpretive and narrative skills, expand interdisciplinary perspectives, and enhance their collaborative abilities. Through discussions and hands-on exercises, facilitators refined their teaching approach across four dynamic tracks - each exploring the role of the artist as a reflective practitioner: 💡 Artist as Placemaker – Exploring the social dynamics and cultural significance of spaces and communities. 🎨 Artist as Experimenter – Pushing the boundaries of art through play, innovation, and new technologies. 🖋️ Artist as Commentator – Examining social and moral issues through art, fostering critical perspectives and meaningful discourse. 🔮 Artist as Futurist – Reflecting on history, engaging with present challenges, and envisioning future possibilities.
