They're used to protecting our runways and terminals, but last month, some of our Airport Emergency Service (AES) firefighters took on a very different mission, donating over a tonne of decommissioned fire hoses to Mandai Wildlife Group and upcycling some of the hoses into “animal furniture”. Under the guidance of Mandai officers, the AES team cut, drilled and wove, creating hammocks which will be used by Asian lions at the Night Safari and other smaller animals like primates. This meaningful initiative is just one of the ways AES aims for sustainability - read more about how else AES reduces waste in our latest Changi Journeys article: https://changi.me/LICJ14.

As technology continues to evolve, so must we. To bring everyone at CAG up to speed on the latest cyber threats and how to stay secure amid digital advancements, we held our first organisation-wide Cyber Day recently for CAGians. Colleagues who participated in the event gained new perspectives through talks by external experts and learnt more about online vulnerabilities through a live hacking demo, among other things. As the future of aviation becomes increasingly digital, we remain committed to building strong capabilities and a cyber‑ready workforce to support safe, seamless operations. A big thank you to our speakers: Gaurav Keerthi, Dennis Chung, Eugene Lim, and Too Ping Tan! #innovation #cybersecurity

[#CAGCareers] “Safety isn’t just a job - it’s a mission I lead every day.” That’s what keeps Bruce Yee going in his role as a Senior Airport Emergency Officer (SAEO) with CAG’s Airport Emergency Service (AES). Currently serving as a Duty Officer, Bruce leads a shift of up to 20 men in maintaining readiness within the aerodrome and responding decisively for aircraft-related incidents. A firm believer in purposeful leadership, Bruce makes it a point to spend time with each team member, helping them understand how their actions contribute not only to AES operations, but also to the wider safety and resilience of the airport. Leadership and mentorship have long been part of Bruce’s DNA. Prior to joining AES, he served seven years with the Singapore Armed Forces in multiple command appointments. At CAG, he has found even greater opportunity to grow this calling, shaping people and strengthening teams through his role in AES. Bruce shares, “Even though I’ve changed uniforms, the desire to contribute to the nation remains. For me, it’s a continuation of service, from soldier to an AES officer.” What also drew him to AES was the opportunity to be in an operational, non-deskbound role, “I wanted to be part of real-time operations, where leadership and judgement make a direct difference.” Stepping into a new environment came with a learning curve. Bruce admits, “I had moments of self-doubt during the training that all AES officers go through,” but he credits the strong support from instructors and course mates for helping him stay focused, build confidence, and grow into the role. Bruce also emphasises the importance of a strong support system at home, “Support from your loved ones is crucial to thrive in this role. I’m deeply grateful to my family for being understanding of the demands of shift work.” To those considering a career with AES, Bruce adds, “You need to be decisive, adaptable, and resilient under pressure. And you’ll definitely need to be physically prepared. If you love to stay fit and lead from the front, this is the job for you.” Learn more about the SAEO role: https://changi.me/LIJO27. #CAGCareers #FacesOfChangi #CAGMagicMakers #MAGIC #IMCAG #Airports #ChangiAirport

To passengers, an aircraft bay is just a parking spot for planes. But behind the scenes, it's one of the most dynamic and crucial resources keeping Changi Airport running smoothly. From gates designed to serve two aircraft simultaneously, to automated docking systems that guide pilots to the precise parking point, and to sustainable repaving methods, there's a whole world of coordination and innovation happening out of sight. Our latest Changi Journeys article pulls back the curtain on how Changi's aircraft bays are optimised to keep Singapore connected to the world. Read the full story here: https://changi.me/LICJ13.

Amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East, CAG has been working closely with airport partners and government agencies to support efforts to bring Singaporeans and local residents back safely, and help affected passengers return home. This includes supporting the smooth arrival of repatriation flights, as well as working with our partners to assist passengers whose travel plans have been disrupted. On the ground, our teams have been distributing food, drinks and blankets to passengers waiting at the airport, as we do our best to care for them during these uncertain times. We are heartened to witness families and friends reunited in our arrival halls, and will continue to work alongside the relevant authorities to facilitate safe and smooth journeys for all passengers.
