Industry appeal to policymakers: Fix the economics for resale. H&M Group are proud to be among 69 fashion industry organisations endorsing a business statement, convened by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, calling for policy changes to incentivise scaling of circular business models, such as resale and repair. The industry recognise that policy change for resale and repair can drive economic resilience, create job opportunities and keep products in circulation for a longer time. Yet today, these models are held back by a system that makes it easier (and more profitable) to produce new items than to keep existing ones in use. “If governments are serious about circularity, they need to act by removing double taxation, reducing labour costs, and removing other barriers that hold resale back. Fixing the economics of resale is one of the fastest and most concrete ways to scale circularity in fashion”, says Leyla Ertur, Chief Sustainability Officer at H&M Group. To scale these models, we need targeted policy action. Read the full business statement: https://lnkd.in/et4cVnky #HM #EllenMacArthurFoundation #TheFashionReModel

Impressive installation by ARKET and artist Laila Gohar for Milan Design Week celebrating everyday beauty through Gohar's theatrical language.
A reimagined fairground ride at Milan’s Giardino delle Arti – part installation, part interactive stage set – marking the launch of our new collaboration with artist Laila Gohar, premiering tomorrow, 21 April. – Based on a historic carousel, with its figures replaced by oversized fruit and vegetables, the work brings together food, playfulness and everyday beauty, shaped through Gohar’s theatrical language. – For today’s opening reception, we’ve invited the London Vegetable Orchestra to perform, and they will also host a vegetable-instrument-making workshop during the day. – If you’re in Milan this week, come by and take a ride: Giardino delle Arti, 20–24 April, 12–8 PM. - #ARKET #ARKETandLailaGohar

Meaningful conversations and shared commitment continue to drive real change. Through inspiring panel talks, insightful debates and discussions in Stockholm — coinciding with the launch of our Annual and Sustainability Report — our H&M Group experts showcased our remarkable results in 2025 and our plans for the year ahead. We made strong progress against our ambitious sustainability agenda last year and recognise measurable outcomes, staying on track to reach our 2030 climate targets. Highlights include lowering CO₂ emissions, increasing the use of recycled materials, freshwater reduction and chemical management. Thanks to supplier representative Anant Ahuja from Shahi Exports, who joined our panel and to the H&M Foundation who gave a presentation on their ongoing philanthropic initiatives such as the Global Change Award. We're making real progress when it comes to lowering our freshwater consumption for manufacturing our products. At H&M Group, we reduced our usage of this finite resource by nearly 23 percent in 2025 compared with a 2022 baseline, well surpassing our target of a 10 percent reduction for that period, and staying firmly on track for an ambitious 30 percent reduction by 2030. “When business and sustainability go hand in hand, we show that fashion can be both affordable and have a lower environmental impact”, says Daniel Ervér, CEO, H&M Group. Together with EY, Apparel Impact Institute, and HSBC, we released a white paper that explains why fashion companies should accelerate decarbonisation in their supply chains. The white paper shares insights, solutions, and best practices on how fashion brands can create business value through climate investments and why collaboration and new financing models are essential to scale real impact. 2025 marked a step forward for H&M Group. We cut emissions where it matters most, showing that fashion can be both affordable and more sustainable. Preliminary figures show that we reduced our Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30% compared to 2019 — keeping us firmly on track towards our 1.5°C-aligned science-based target of a 56% reduction by 2030 (Full-year Report 2025, published 29 January). Why does this matter? Because Scope 3 represents 99% of our climate footprint — materials, manufacturing, energy use in factories, transport. The heart of our value chain. So what changed? ✔️ We shifted to fewer, deeper, long-term supplier partnerships, enabling real investment in cleaner production and moving away from coal ✔️ More suppliers are using renewable electricity and improving energy efficiency ✔️ We used less material overall, planning closer to real customer demand ✔️ We increased the share of lower-impact materials across key fibres This didn’t come from one initiative. It came from integrating sustainability into how we run our business every day. We know there’s still more to do as we move towards our 2030 and 2040 targets. But the direction is clear: decouple growth from resource use and greenhouse gas emissions. We’re proving that climate action and business performance can go hand in hand. And we’re not done. Next up: completely phasing out on-site coal in our supply chain by the end of 2026. Find our Full-year report here: https://lnkd.in/gUN4zwzw
