Hisham Daou udostępnił(a) toOne would expect that advances in modern medicine will be on par with advances in technology. But it doesn't seem that this is the case. Surgery has come a long way, but that is due to engineering advances in mechanical and electrical systems. Medical treatment seems to be moving very slowly, we can't find cures to illnesses that have been around for decades, not to mention simple allergies. Maybe with CRISPR and gene editing we can create humans 2.0, less affected by pandemics and diseases. Can't wait for the next release or maybe a simple firmware update would do. #medicine #healthcare #surgery #technology #crispr #geneediting

Hisham Daou udostępnił(a) toThe "7 minutes of terror" a phrase usually used to refer to Entry, Descent and Landing. Perseverance is almost on Mars, but before the data collection can even start, it must first survive the 7 minutes of terror. During entry the external surface of the heat shield reaches around 1300 degrees Celsius. Knowing that electronics can only withstand a fraction of this heat (typically less than +125C). The supersonic parachute will then need to be deployed with a perfect timing in order to hit the landing spot. The final hurdle would be to choose a landing location among the rocks, and that is done using the "Terrain-Relative Navigation". It is about connecting digital skills with employers, jobs and real livelihood opportunities for Palestinian youth, while contributing to a space that can serve the wider community. A strong step toward linking skills, employment and community development.Hisham Daou polecił(a) toOn 21 August, The Digital Hub - UNRWA joined the visit to Dbayeh Camp with Dr. KLAUS Dorothée, Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Stipanka Stanic, Regional Programme Manager at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and colleagues from GIZ and UNRWA. The visit was an opportunity to present how the Digital Hub can contribute to the future development of the Dbayeh compound by creating stronger pathways from digital skills to employment and sustainable livelihoods for Palestinian youth. As part of the wider vision for the compound, the Digital Hub can provide an anchor for technical training, employer engagement, co-working and career support, while connecting youth to a broader environment of community activities, recreation and economic opportunity. The ambition is to build on the Digital Hub’s existing employment outcomes and create a stronger link between learning, employers and real work opportunities.

Most integrations force a tradeoff: manage a unique credential for every device, or rebuild your data pipeline every time you add a new sensor. That works fine for one device. It falls apart at scale. We built a setup where none of that applies. New devices just work. New sensor readings just show up. No firmware changes, no per device setup, no growing pile of integration code to maintain. We tested it on real hardware and open sourced the whole thing so you can see it in action. Not because the contractor did a bad job. Because scheduled maintenance has a blind spot most operators don't know about. It checks the system on a calendar. But equipment doesn't fail on a calendar. A slow leak or a compressor problem can start the week after a visit and have months to turn into an emergency, completely invisible until the next scheduled check. So is the fix more frequent visits? More sensors? Neither, on its own. Grow My Business is a competition between a selection of Lebanese traders who are requested to develop plans on how to grow their existing business.
During the second stage of the competition, the 15 nominees will benefit from workshops organized by experts and professors, and focused on how to draft a successful business plan.

We participated in this competition under IDAW company entry. IDAW is a software development company and our business plan projected how we wanted to grow it with a Hardware design department and Hardware product line. -

One of the biggest entrepreneurship competitions in the region receiving 5,000 applications each year from 21 of the Arab countries,besides prize money,the competition engages entrepreneurs in training, mentor-ship, exposure and networking.
So far, the Competition has trained more than 1,500 entrepreneurs and has created over 250 knowledge based jobs. It receives applications in 4 different tracks: Ideas, Startups, Social Entrepreneurship, and The Silicon Valley Program in 3 different…One of the biggest entrepreneurship competitions in the region receiving 5,000 applications each year from 21 of the Arab countries,besides prize money,the competition engages entrepreneurs in training, mentor-ship, exposure and networking.

Smart Inventory System was a proud semifinalist in the idea track of this competition. The team participated in all the stages of the competition from the workshops to the pitching sessions. -
