Hello and welcome to the 137th edition of the Screenshot of the Week!

To start with, congratulations to the winner of the previous contest! Tobias F.'s screenshot from won with 8 upvotes!

Last week's winning screenshot one

To submit a screenshot, simply post it as an answer to this question, but please take note of the following:

  • One screenshot per post, and one post per person, please!
  • Limited picture modifications are allowed, such as cropping, simple filters, and blurring of identifying info such as names, but not adding other images or text.
  • To ensure a fair playing field, please post screenshots you've taken yourself rather than ones you found online.
  • Stack Exchange’s Code of Conduct still applies - so if it would be unacceptable to post normally, it’s unacceptable here.

Also, try to avoid pictures that include spoilers. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this contest, so the less spoilers the better.

How long will the contest run?

We will accept submissions for a week, until March 17, 2025, then have a week-long period where only voting will be accepted. This is to give every submission, even those posted at the end of the first week, a chance to be voted on by everyone.

After the end of the second week, at March 24, 2025, we will count upvotes only to determine the winning screenshot, which will be featured for a week on the main site's photo widget.

Heroic Women

To celebrate the recent International Women's Day, show us any heroic-looking female character!

As a reminder, we're always accepting suggestions for themed weeks, and have compiled that suggestion process into a question of its own. Additionally, there is the hall of fame you can check out that contains all the previous contest winners.

@Clockwork yeah she is top class, but I meant.. we had so many HZD entries so far, I was expecting one for this contest, too :D Commented Mar 14, 2025 at 22:09
  • I was going to submit an image of Mario saving Princess Peach, but the theme is heroic women. If a princess is being saved, that wouldn’t count, would it? Commented Mar 18, 2025 at 1:38
  • @Alex No, that wouldn’t count; the theme is “heroic women” not “heroines”. Commented Mar 18, 2025 at 1:55
  • @Alex I think it’d be fine though, if the image shows Peach in an active (rather than passive) role. Commented Mar 18, 2025 at 2:19

This post is still missing the [featured] tag, can any mod fix it? Commented Mar 22, 2025 at 13:01

Just for context, the female character that originally inspired me for this suggestion was Olga from The Taiga level in Metro:Exodus. A tough, decisive, commanding female oozing authority and yes, sexiness (I'm a man). She appears here and there, teaching you about the area and people, and can turn quite hostile if your moral choices are not up to scratch! Commented Mar 22, 2025 at 17:15

Uh, I just came to the realisation, you've been the sole creator of SOTW threads since the beginning of the year. Commented Mar 25, 2025 at 20:38

By the way, I recently realised the 3D style of Xillia/Zestiria/Berseria reminds me of RWBY. Commented Mar 12, 2025 at 19:57

Shionne Imeris from , with a red outfit and black and red sunshades.

A screenshot from one of the two main characters from the RPG Tales of Arise. This was taken with the "show character" option enabled, which allows you to change the camera angle and change the pose the character is taking. Shionne, is taking a pose with her rifle pointed downwards.

  • It made me realise I haven't taken a lot of screenshots from the "Tales of" video games I played, some of which I believe have very heroic looking female characters. Commented Mar 11, 2025 at 8:26
  • Never realized that Tales of Arise is part of "Tales of" series, lol Commented Mar 11, 2025 at 8:39
  • @pinckerman Not gonna lie, when I started playing, I missed a lot of the tiny things which made a "Tales of", a "Tales of". Like the sound you hear when you walk over a save spot for example. Commented Mar 11, 2025 at 9:32
  • Arise was my first Tales game. I've been wanting to go back and play through it again Commented Mar 11, 2025 at 14:59

  • I once tried having a look at the screenshot section of Final Fantasy 13 on Steam. Apparently, my screenshots were the only ones not about Fang :| Commented Mar 13, 2025 at 15:07
  • I like fang she is so loyal to vanille. Commented Mar 13, 2025 at 15:15
  • For some reasons, I feel like she reminds me of someone but not sure who. Perhaps Michelle Rodriguez for the fierce eyes but sometimes still smiling face. Commented Mar 13, 2025 at 15:25

Ilsa Nadir: infiltrator of the Oblask Dam in Siberia; investigator of the research facility & the secret digging site; destroyer of the biohazard container; eliminator of zombies, mutants, military, special forces, … oh and TimeSplitters.

Ilsa Nadir in a half-crouching stance at an entrance to the Ice Station main tower, wearing a cool snow-combat outfit and holding a sniper rifle.
