Anonymous, 24 Sep 2026How is it a "non-issue" that the $1,000 added ask... moreOk there's two things to unpack here:

    1) The risk is having it on the device in ANY capacity, it's nothing to do with the write speed. Apple could have put SLC flash in here and it would still be at risk of data corruption, hardware damage, or theft. Your phone is a much bigger and much more recognisable target than your SSD.

    2) All the controversy about the QLC flash is specifically about the write speed. The difference in even sustained read speed between TLC and QLC is very insignificant, and you're limited by the 1000MB/s of the USB-C interface in all cases anyway.

      It blocks using the internal.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2026Buy the air and a cameraThat doesn't solve any of the issues I have with it. I don't want to carry a big camera around, but I also do not want a super-heavy phone. Other brands have managed to release phones with a sensible weight for years, it's only Apple that stick with it. Probably because their fans somehow think heft equals quality

What's the point of having an NPU if the local AI is dumber than a brick?

If rumours being ignored by all major reviews are true, the real performance of the 2TB storage is so slow it effectively takes over 20 DAYS to access all storage. That's a major data safety issue.

biszkopt, 24 Sep 2026Lol most people don't upgrade their iPhones every year... moreSurvey in USA ( #1 market for Apple) shows 36 months at most before getting new phone ..

Easy to get iphones at carrier ( NA and EU) where contract of 2 years give huge discount and monthly payments. Not even low class people from 3rd world keep iphones 5-7 years.

                    Only 24mm camera is usable.
                    Superwide photos are like wax.
Periscope , some samples have too much NR on edges.

That's a cute little phone, a bit overpriced for what it offers though

Apple's underhand tricks to sell subpar budget parts as $1,500 addons, like their storage, surely require serious review sites to test storage performance.

It's bad optics when reviews of devices ranging to prices over $3,000 not even mentioning storage performance.

Alot of users on Twitter/X say their phone is already dented or scratched within a week. This is unacceptable imo, especially for a phone this expensive.

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2026Asking 750 € more just for 0.75TB more, typical Apple. And ... moreApple skimming profits by using substandard materials, components over every iteration. Now the QLC memory to save some bucks. Alluminimum save some bucks, interior modem save some bucks, same battery tech while world is moving with much better battery tech- save some bucks. Eventually, you get the over priced but well compromised product.
