iPhone is getting too big.
I wish Apple would remember what Steve said about the ideal smart phone size.
Maybe next year when the 20th anniversary edition comes out, there will be a true Mini edition. Just call it Steve Jobs edition. It will pay great tribute to the founder.

      This is why Apple compares every new spec with their older iPhones. Comparing them with Android phones would expose how iOS users are getting sc@mmed.

          - wifi 7 is only 160mhz wide....it is twice slowed than wifi 7 320 mhz you can find on Dimensity 9200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 released in 2022
          - camera setup is far inferior compare with Oppo Find X6 Pro
          - still not SiC
          - still not fast charge
          - still 1000 cycles battery
          - screen still limited to HDR10, no HDR10+
          - still 480PWM
          ....

            Dang! For a phone this expensive, those camera pics are comparable to midrange android phones lol. vivo and oppo ultras absolutely crush it

I think average people that buys midrange and flagship phones don't need to upgrade it every 2-3 years. I think casual users should switch phones after at least 5 years of use. It's better for environment and for your wallet to keep using your devices longer.

They are producing flagship level of chips that are most energy efficient in the industry. I can imagine people using iPhone 16 in 2031, because there are people that still use iphone XR or 11 in 2026. I honestly don't see huge difference when I'm switching between my 60hz in iPhone 13 mini and 90hz in my Lenovo tablet.

                        Nobody in their right minds wants to use outdated hardware and software for 10yrs. People from North America don't count because of the lack of options there.

                        Can you imagine people who bought the iPhone 16 in 2024, using them till 2031 as per 7 years of promised updates?

                        60hz in the year 2031, coupled with tortoise speeds for charging? No Thank You!

                            Hi res camera shots are not at samsung resolution lvl or hdr, I didnt spot AI when browsing briefly tho, which is a big plus from me and my experience with Oppo and its AI disaster.
                            Battery lags behind top dogs, but isnt bad, specially in gaming - where they lead even.
                            Overall, good.

Also older iphones that still get big updates, receive all visual changes and performance improvements and they always release newest versions on the same day for all devices.

                                situation in the US and Europe are identical, they are not at all !

                                In the US seriously favorable deals can be had rather often (even today), in the EU ?
                                Nah, discounts through carrier subscriptions have completely disappeared here !
                                (maybe with the exception of the UK).

                                    In the EU less and less discount is given on iPhones or Galaxy phones. And most importantly when they do give you discounts it generally means that your subscription price is higher, and since you are locked for 24 months, you are still paying.

                                    My provider stopped giving rebates on the phones and instead made the subscriptions cheaper and added more data to its plans. They slashed 10€ (11.5 dollar) of my monthly subscription. This corresponds largely to the rebate they have which was basically a zero APR credit.
