At 1100$/€ we're long past logical needs and necessities and pretty much in a "just want it" territory for most people.
I for one still compare devices when buying, even at those prices, so at least a little bit of logic is still applicable in my case. But i don't speak for everyone cause not everyone does that.

If your needs and wants are met with SD7 series or below that is perfectly fine, then a flagship is not meant for a user like you.

If i buy a flagship at those prices my expectation is to be at current flagship hardware level, if i use the hardware to its full capabilities is irrelevant. I simply want it.

I don't want basically the same i already have. Google is behind by 3 years, eclipsed in almost every metric by almost every competitor, yet their pricing reflects current flagship prices and they simply are not worth it, no phone is worth that kinda of money if we're honest but Google (and Huawei at least to me) is by far the worst offender in that sense.

The entire Pixle lineup is at the very least 400$/€ too expensive for the offered devices as a whole every single year.

So if anything is a waste of money, it's a Pixel when one knowingly can get last years flagships that just are better for lower asking prices.
Or this years flagships once they are available for basically the same money Google is asking for it's already outdated devices.

    I just realized google pixel phones meant for AI Gemini users and photography. But if I want all around phone with better processor and longest battery life I should search for something else.

No timestamp tags on footnotes on the amendments or score revisions. I got an OPPO Find x6 pro, when they first reviewed it, it had a 4.7 score. It changed to a 4.6 then a 4.5. They should disclose at the beginning of the review, in order for us to receive a preview unit, we must comply with the agreement by (insert company) blah blah, we cannot say bad things within this range. NDA etc. Kind of defeats the purpose of an honest review doesn't it?

            GSMArena's score is meaningless at this point. I've guessed it without opening the article. I think 4.3 is the minimum they can give to a flagship without losing preview rights.

If you're so attached to a faceless corporation, a company which makes poor products, that the truth hurts you and you lash out instead of acknowledging it, you dont deserve respect.

                Sure, the other person can say it in a nice way, and you can tell them that whilst acknowledging the truth. If how nice someone is when saying something makes you change your opinion on reality then lol why should i respect you?

The rest mostly buy hardware off other companies and assemble it. Xiaomi is starting to design their own chips so they are moving in the direction of hardware development but it's very limited and the latest one is not planned to be used on any slab phones. Apart from a few minor components (like minor chips like the extra performance, charging and image processing ones) most of these cellphone brands get all their key hardware from like screen, processor, battery etc from other supply chain companies. Even things like fast charging are mostly developed by other supply chain companies. It's the same for all companies though. One of the key things left for innovation is the software but when one company develops something good that is very popular usually the other companies will just copy it anyway and give their own version.

                                    Pretty solid phone overall, even considering the cost, especially in the US market. There are certain clear benefits that this (and other Pixels) offer such as an incredibly bright screen, perfect for outdoors use. Also, battery life, while definitely not entirely impressive, is still about on par with top competitors, again in the US market. The great all around (for around 90 percent of people) cameras can be nitpicked such as the selfie low light quality, but those shots are probably still viewed upon as solid especially from phones many would be upgrading from. I'll say it again until I'm blue in the face: There is no perfect product/device. There will always be certain types of tradeoffs made and some nitpicks, including Apple and Samsung and many of those other brands in Asia. Pick the few handful of features most critical for your use case and zero in on the product that offers that while understanding you're probably giving up at least one or two other things in return. Don't get bogged down into the brand wars. Arguing about phones is pretty pathetic and a complete waste of your time. Solid phone, like many others to come. Thanks for the in-depth review.

                                      It used to be special to own a Pixel. Pixel 5, Pixel 6, Pixel 8 Pro, which I think was the peak Pixel for the asking price at the time. But now, even though it has improved, it's just - meh.
