Over the past four years, Dasra, in partnership with Bloomberg, has led D4GX India—an initiative that champions data-led innovation to reimagine the role of data in development. By putting communities at the center, D4GX India has empowered approximately 40 organizations and fostered a vibrant ecosystem of inclusive, data-driven innovation across 22+ states in India. This has been supported by around 35 Bloomberg mentors contributing expertise in data, analytics and strategy. All of this has been in service of one goal: ensuring that data systems reflect the lived experiences and voices of those most often excluded. As we look back on this journey, we’re excited to see Bloomberg bring this initiative to Singapore with The Majurity Trust and Talent Trust, carrying the momentum forward. This Dalit History Month, we honour movements of resistance and leadership that continue to shape India’s future. In rural Uttar Pradesh, led by Daulat Ram ji, Bhartiya Jan Sewa Ashram’s Dalit Mahila Mukti Manch is amongst those leading that charge. In villages where Musahar women were once afraid to set foot in a police station or speak before a landlord, things are changing. Through Bhartiya Jan Sewa Ashram's Dalit Mahila Mukti Manch, women are organising, advocating, and refusing to stay silent. When injustice strikes, they don’t wait for permission—they mobilise, confront, and demand accountability. Backed by a network of women lawyers, elected representatives, and sangathans across 25 districts, these women are leading a movement for equity from within their communities. Because no one knows the stakes—or the strength it takes—better than they do. This is what grassroots power looks like. With this belief, the WomenLead India Alliance at Dasra hosted a convening on 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑇ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑊𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛’𝑠 𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝 on April 22, in partnership with CII Centre for Women Leadership and BCG. The day brought together leading voices from business, development, and philanthropy to reflect on the healthcare systems we’re building—and who is shaping them. The event began with a power-packed keynote segment that set the tone for why this conversation matters—anchoring us in a shared sense of purpose and the need for collective action.
