Summary

Creates a manufacturing reference learning scenario that all 9 DT curriculum modules (#617) reference for progressive learning exercises. The scenario follows a factory floor improvement project at Meridian Components — relatable, concrete, and complex enough to demonstrate every DT method meaningfully.

Changes

New File

dt-curriculum-scenario-manufacturing.instructions.md — single scenario file loaded alongside curriculum modules via applyTo: '**/.copilot-tracking/dt/**/curriculum-*'

Content Structure

  • Scenario Overview — Mid-size manufacturer (Meridian Components), shift quality variance, 8 stakeholder types, 4 complexity dimensions (technical, human, organizational, external)
  • Scenario Progression — Continuous narrative through all 3 spaces (Problem → Solution → Implementation) showing how outputs from each method feed the next
  • Interview Excerpts — 8 fictional excerpts across 6 stakeholder types (operators, supervisor, quality engineer, maintenance engineer, safety officer) for research and synthesis exercises
  • Observation Data Points — 20 short observations for Module 3 affinity clustering exercises
  • Test Results — 8 test scenarios with mixed pass/fail outcomes for Module 7-9 hi-fi prototype and iteration exercises

Collection Updates

  • Registered in design-thinking.collection.yml (31 → 32 items)
  • Registered in hve-core-all.collection.yml (118 → 119 items)
  • Added description bullet to design-thinking.collection.md
  • Plugin outputs regenerated

  • npm run plugin:generate — 0 errors
  • npm run lint:frontmatter — 0 errors (189 files)
  • npm run lint:collections-metadata — 0 errors
  • npm run spell-check — 0 issues

advanced affinity analysis with multi-pass clustering, cross-stakeholder
pattern detection, outlier investigation, and temporal pattern recognition.
Includes insight framework with observation-inference-insight formula,
HMW question scaffolding with breadth/depth calibration and generative
tension, problem statement articulation with POV format and assumption
audit, and manufacturing-specific synthesis patterns.

improvement scenario used across all 9 DT curriculum modules for progressive
learning exercises.

Content includes:
- Scenario overview (Meridian Components, shift quality variance, stakeholders)
- Scenario progression through Problem/Solution/Implementation spaces
- 8 fictional interview excerpts across 6 stakeholder types
- 20 observation data points for affinity clustering exercises
- 8 test result scenarios with pass/fail outcomes for hi-fi prototype exercises

Registered in design-thinking (32 items) and hve-core-all (119 items) collections.
Plugin outputs regenerated.
