iPhone app: can users join the TestFlight, or is a public release planned? #858
I use Hex for dictation on macOS and want the same on my iPhone. I saw ios/README.md describes an internal TestFlight app (HEXMobile) with a custom keyboard, on-device transcription and no network access from the keyboard, and #668 discusses it. I couldn't find a public way to get it.
What would help?
A way for users to try the iPhone app: an external TestFlight link now, or a public App Store release when it's ready. I'd happily test it and report back. I dictate in English and German, and the iPhone app's Parakeet V2 is English only, so a multilingual model like Parakeet v3 would matter to me. Is there a plan or date for opening it up?
@MariusWilsch a way to try the app is to build it yourself with xcode and put it on your phone. you are running macos. i asked my agent and had the app on my phone within minutes.
+1, I'd love this too. I use Hex heavily since its release on macOS and would like the same dictation on my iPhone.
Building it myself with Xcode works as a stopgap, but it isn't a real substitute: with a free Apple ID the build expires after 7 days, and with the dev branch shipping several releases a day, staying current means rebuilding constantly. An external TestFlight would solve both.
Also +1 on a multilingual model: I dictate mostly in Spanish, so Parakeet v3 (or similar) on iOS would make it usable for me.
