Day 2 at #SocialWest2026 left me with a lot to think about.
One thing I really appreciated about the sessions I attended is that they went beyond trends and focused on something more important: human connection.
A few insights that stayed with me:
• Community-led marketing is becoming more valuable than simply chasing attention. Brands that create belonging and participation build stronger long-term relationships.
• Sending more emails does not mean better marketing. Relevance, trust, and audience engagement matter more than volume.
• Personal branding is less about “looking perfect” online and more about consistency, authenticity, and genuine conversations.
• Automation and AI are powerful tools, but the human side of marketing is still what creates emotional connection and memorable experiences.
One of my favourite sessions explored creativity and data through real campaign examples that completely challenged conventional thinking. The Tide campaign example especially stood out to me because it showed how some of the most powerful ideas are often simple, unexpected, and deeply human.
Beyond the sessions, it has also been so great to reconnect with people in the marketing field and meet new, amazing people. Events like this remind me how valuable in-person conversations and shared ideas still are, even in such a digital industry.
I’m leaving inspired, with a notebook full of ideas and a reminder that great marketing is not only about performance metrics. It’s also about making people feel something.
