New regulations are now in place to support equal treatment in federally regulated private-sector workplaces. They will help: - ensure workers are paid at the same rate for the same work, regardless of employment status - protect individuals employed through temporary help agencies from unfair practices such as charging workers fees for job placement or assignments or restricting their ability to be hired directly by a client. Employers are encouraged to review the guidance and the final regulations before they come into force on October 26, 2026.
