A client recently approached us with a challenge: they required training specific to Alberta that aligned with their internal policies and addressed some unique operational needs. We already had course content compliant with Ontario regulations in place, and our SMEs made the necessary adjustments to ensure the content was compliant with Alberta standards. As an Instructional Designer, I find projects like this particularly rewarding. Although the changes to the content were minor, the implementation stage demanded several days and nights of work. This included modifying the content, conducting peer reviews, testing, publishing, retesting, and fixing any errors that arose. Rincy and I worked closely to rework the content, streamline the learner experience, and ensure that every detail met both provincial regulations and the client’s expectations. Ultimately, we completed the project on time, achieving client satisfaction. This is what sets our e-learning apart. At IPAC Consulting - Infection Control, we don’t just meet standards; we create training that actually fits the people it’s meant for. Every team has that “we really need training on this” moment. The research employs a comprehensive framework of over 50 variables to measure the impact, providing an in-depth analysis of the relationship between RPL/PLAR and career development. This presentation will provide insights into the key findings and implications for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers. The findings reveal that RPL/PLAR has a significant positive impact on career development across identified variables. Participants who underwent RPL/PLAR reported increased skills recognition, leading to enhanced self-efficacy and confidence in their abilities. This resulted in improved employability prospects. This session emphasizes the need for a holistic approach to implementing RPL/PLAR policies that consider not only the technical aspects but also the contextual factors influencing career development. The presentation will conclude with recommendations for future research directions in this field, including exploring the long-term effects of RPL/PLAR on career trajectories and examining its impact on underrepresented populations.
