The research employs a comprehensive framework of over 50 variables to measure the impact, providing an in-depth analysis of the relationship between RPL/PLAR and career development. This presentation will provide insights into the key findings and implications for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers. The findings reveal that RPL/PLAR has a significant positive impact on career development across identified variables. Participants who underwent RPL/PLAR reported increased skills recognition, leading to enhanced self-efficacy and confidence in their abilities. This resulted in improved employability prospects. This session emphasizes the need for a holistic approach to implementing RPL/PLAR policies that consider not only the technical aspects but also the contextual factors influencing career development. The presentation will conclude with recommendations for future research directions in this field, including exploring the long-term effects of RPL/PLAR on career trajectories and examining its impact on underrepresented populations. How Leaders Reset After Negative Interactions (Part 3) 👉🏾BTW, This may not be for you, if not, keep scrolling 😎Otherwise I have a few more things for you to consider. If you are just joining this series, Parts One and Two walked through the emotional reality of negative interactions with other people and the tactical reset process I coach leaders through. (make sure to go back and read the past two parts if you missed it) Today is about what happens after the reset. This is where reputational capital is either recovered or multiplied. A VP I coached last year learned this the hard way. She was in a tense budget review, and a peer tried to undermine her proposal with passive-aggressive comments. Her instinct was to defend and over-explain. She felt her credibility slipping. She excused herself briefly, stepped into the hallway, and applied the reset steps. She returned with three things most leaders forget to activate in moments like this: 1. The power of strategic composure. She fronted and responded slowly and directly, which signaled authority instead of insecurity. 2. A shift from proving to leading. She anchored her points to business impact rather than personal validation. Focus on facts not feelings during this type of interaction. 3. Presence that communicates credibility before she speaks. Her body language announced confidence. Her tone confirmed it. Later that day, her CFO said, “I noticed how you handled the pushback. That was executive leadership.” Here is the key insight: Resets are not just about recovering your energy. It's about protecting your influence. High-level professionals are watched more closely in uncomfortable moments. People decide whether to trust you, follow you, or advocate for you based on how you navigate pressure. Rethinking KPIs Through An Indigenous Lens - In many organizations, progress is measured using KPIs, Key Performance Indicators. These are often numbers, charts, and performance metrics designed to show whether you’re meeting goals. But from an Indigenous perspective, that way of measuring success doesn’t always capture what truly matters. Our people remind us that while data is important, it’s not the full story. We are a collective. We understand that progress must be felt by the people, not just reported on paper. If you’re hitting your targets but losing trust, connection, or spirit along the way, is that really success? So when I think about KPIs through an Indigenous lens, I think differently. I think about: Keep People Informed. Keep People Involved. Keep People Interested. Keep People Inspired. Because real progress happens when people are brought along, not left behind. When they feel heard, respected, and energized by the vision ahead. These are the kinds of KPIs we should be paying attention to. Not just the ones that fit in a quarterly report, but the ones that reflect whether we are growing together.
