Even though there are similar posts I could't find anything that worked for me. Im using Blender 4.4.0. Now to the important stuff:

My camera won't change. I've checked the solutions given here already, none of them worked for me. After chatting a long time with Chat-GPT I gave up and now I'm here.

Active Camera

As you can see active Camera is deactivated. When im in the timeframe of "Cam-1" and "Cam-1" is active and it goes into the timeframe of "Cam-2" it stays active on "Cam-1". If I then stop the playback, activate and deactivate "local camera" it switches to "Cam-2".

What should I try to do?

In order to switch cameras, you have to bind them to markers on the timeline. You can do that by selecting the camera you want to switch to and then hit Ctrl + B while hovering over the timeline:

In order for this to work Local Camera checkbox needs to be unchecked, because it would ignore scene camera in that viewport if it was checked.

You also cannot be in local view(toggled with Numpad / ) in the viewport you are viewing the scene from, because it would also ignore active camera. You will also see an indication that you are in local view in the corner of the viewport(assuming default factory settings):

Just hit Numpad / to toggle local view in that case.

  • $\begingroup$ I have already had markers in my scene swell as the user perspective set to local. The camera will not change, no matter what. This screenshot shows how my timeline looks, maybe this is helpful to tell, why the camera doesn't change. /Users/finnodewald/Desktop/Bildschirmfoto 2025-11-24 um 08.15.56.png $\endgroup$ Commented Nov 24 at 7:18
  • $\begingroup$ The "(Local)" means local view. If it's there, that's the reason cameras don't switch. You should toggle out of local view so you don't see the "(Local)" text in the viewport using Numpad / hotkey. $\endgroup$ Commented Nov 24 at 7:52
