How It Works

From donation to distribution, every device goes through a responsible, community-focused process.

1. You Donate

Drop off your old electronics at our Tempe facility or schedule a pickup. We accept almost everything, working or not.

2. We Refurbish

Our team and volunteers inspect, clean, repair, and restore devices to working condition — ready for a second life.

3. We Distribute

Refurbished devices go to students, schools, nonprofits, and community members across Arizona who need them most.

4. We Protect the Planet

What can’t be reused is responsibly recycled, keeping millions of pounds of e-waste out of Arizona landfills every year.

Education Programs

AZ StRUT brings technology education directly into Arizona classrooms through two signature programs.

Techie Experience

A single-visit hands-on experience that introduces students to computer hardware, networking, or cyber safety. Available for groups of 10–20 and designed to complement any STEM curriculum.

  • Hardware, Networking, and Cyber Safety tracks
  • Students often take home a device
  • Grant funding may be available for select participants.

Techie Lab

A full school-year partnership program aligned to CompTIA A+ and Tech+ certification objectives. Students build real computers and take them home — serving Arizona schools since 1998.

  • CompTIA A+ and Tech+ aligned curriculum
  • Students build and keep a refurbished computer
  • 25+ partner schools across Arizona

AZ StRUT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Arizona’s technical education and a community effort towards a more sustainable future.

Proudly partnering with over 50 schools statewide since 1998.
