Bryan Rogers shared thisToday I learned Claude can terminate conversations if the interaction becomes abusive or harmful. I had to sit with that for a moment. Not because I think AI has emotions in the human sense, but because it raises a more interesting question: what happens when AI systems start having boundaries? I saw a Reddit thread where someone shared that Claude ended a conversation after being spoken to aggressively. What stood out was not the feature itself, but the reaction. A lot of people supported it. The sentiment was essentially: why should abusive behaviour be normalised just because the other party is artificial? That wasn't the response I expected. Most conversations around AI governance focus on privacy, security, compliance, data leakage and accuracy. All of that matters. But there may be another layer emerging that businesses have not really thought through yet. Digital conduct. How people behave when interacting with AI may end up saying more than we expect. If someone is aggressive, manipulative or reckless with an AI system, is that harmless venting, or is it a small signal about judgement, workplace behaviour and how they use technology when there are no obvious social consequences? The point is not whether AI “feels” mistreated. The point is that the human behaviour is still real. As AI becomes embedded into workplaces, customer service, HR, education, legal and healthcare, this will become harder to ignore. These tools will not just answer questions. They will shape workflows, decisions, support experiences and internal processes. So should business leaders be considering clearer rules of interaction within the workspace?

Bryan Rogers reposted thisBryan Rogers reposted thisEver wondered how cybercriminals squeeze companies not once, but three times? You’re about to see how triple extortion works. In this #reddshort, you’ll hear from host Marco Nicosia alongside REDD’s CEO, Bryan Rogers, as they expose the mechanics of triple extortion. Learn how modern attackers look beyond the initial tech hack to exploit your sensitive data and regulatory rules for maximum profit. First, they lock your systems and demand a ransom to restore access. Then, even after paying, they threaten to sell your sensitive data unless you pay again. Finally, they exploit compliance laws and warn that they’ll report you to regulators unless you hand over more money. This isn’t just about tech—it’s about how attackers manipulate fear, data, and rules to maximise profit. Bryan Rogers posted thisAre you starting to think about how agentic AI could actually improve your business and reduce workload? Not just AI helping write emails or summarise documents. I mean AI that can start handling parts of entire workflows. That’s the shift I think a lot of businesses are only just starting to wrap their heads around. For example, after a meeting, AI can now potentially: summarise the discussion identify action items draft follow-up emails update the CRM assign tasks internally flag issues or delays schedule the next meeting And that’s just one simple example. When you start applying that thinking across operations, customer service, sales, recruitment, finance, project management or internal admin, it becomes pretty clear this is much bigger than just another software tool or productivity app. A lot of current business processes were built around human coordination: moving information between systems, following people up, manual updates, repetitive admin, context switching. Agentic AI starts reducing some of that operational friction. I believe over the next few months we’ll start to see almost every industry adopting some form of agentic AI into day-to-day operations. Some businesses will move early. Others will wait until the market forces them to. Either way, the shift is already starting. If you’re trying to understand where this could realistically fit within your business or workflows, feel free to reach out and let’s have a chat.

Bryan Rogers reposted thisBryan Rogers reposted thisEver assume that outsourcing a Security Operations Centre (SOC) means you can “set and forget” your cybersecurity? Think again. In this #reddshort, you’ll hear from host Marco Nicosia alongside REDD’s CEO, Bryan Rogers, on why a managed SOC isn't enough if it doesn't understand your business context. While a managed SOC can monitor alerts and respond to incidents, it can’t understand the unique context of your business. What’s normal for one organisation might be a risk for yours. That’s why you still need someone in your team who can interpret alerts, identify patterns, and make informed decisions that align with your operations. Ignoring this can leave vulnerabilities unnoticed or even disrupt business processes. By combining the expertise of a managed SOC with internal business knowledge, you can stay ahead of threats, act on insights, and ensure your systems remain secure. Outsourcing doesn’t replace responsibility. It amplifies it when done right. #CyberSecurity #SOC #ManagedSOC #BusinessSecurity #ITLeadership #RiskManagementDon’t Make This Mistake With Your Security OperationsDon’t Make This Mistake With Your Security Operations

Bryan Rogers posted thisOne of the biggest operational risks I’m seeing right now is over-tooling. Businesses continue adding new platforms, AI tools, automations and point solutions with good intentions but over time it starts fragmenting operational processes across the organisation. Different teams adopt different tools. Workflows become disconnected. Reporting becomes inconsistent. Ownership becomes unclear. Before long, organisations end up with: - duplicated systems - fragmented processes - conflicting data - rising support overhead - reduced visibility - slower execution Technology should simplify operations, not create additional layers of complexity. The organisations we work with who operate most effectively right now are becoming far more disciplined around integration, governance and process alignment before introducing more technology into the environment. Sometimes operational maturity is less about adding another platform and more about consolidating what already exists. Always happy to chat if you have concerns about your organisations tool adoption processes.

Bryan Rogers reposted thisBryan Rogers reposted thisYou’re often making decisions about IT without full visibility into what’s really happening on the ground. In the latest #reddshort, REDD’s CEO Bryan Rogers and COO Chris Herbert highlight how easy it is for risk to build quietly when you rely on surface-level signals like “nothing’s broken” or a lack of complaints. You’re encouraged to think beyond tickets and technical reports. Without the right feedback loops, metrics, and reporting lens, you miss the early warning signs that matter most. By providing the correct information at the appropriate level, you shift from reacting to problems to taking proactive control. This leads to better clarity, enhanced decision-making, and allows you to truly manage IT risks before they become bigger issues. Bryan Rogers reposted thisBryan Rogers reposted thisOrganisations are relying on service providers to turn AI ambition into operational reality, according to KPMG Australia’s Managed Services Outlook Survey 2026. Karlie Lytas, managed services partner at KPMG Australia, said, “Most organisations aren’t short on AI ambition; however, they are struggling with executing at scale.” From an agentic AI lens, more than 90 percent of executives view managed services as essential to leapfrog technical debt and talent gaps that often stall initiatives. Bryan Rogers, CEO of REDD, is seeing strong, growing interest, but says many customers don’t know where to begin. When it comes to digital transformation, Nick Sone, chief customer officer at Brennan, is finding that organisations are thinking about managed services earlier in the transformation cycle, rather than treating it as an add-on when the project is finished. Here are more insights from Rogers, Sone and Lytas:

Bryan Rogers posted thisLabour Day always makes me pause. Not because it’s a public holiday, but because of what it represents here in Queensland. Less than 150 years ago, people were working 12–16 hour days, six days a week. No real boundaries. No balance. The idea of a weekend didn’t exist. The 8-hour day wasn’t introduced because it suited business. It was fought for hard. 8 hours work. 8 hours rest. 8 hours to live. That principle changed everything. Fast forward to today, and on the surface, we’ve come a long way. In our business, we don’t expect people to be online 24/7. Flexibility is real. Remote and hybrid work have created better lifestyles for a lot of people. But the challenge hasn’t disappeared. It’s just evolved. It’s no longer just about hours worked. It's becoming more about mental load. Context switching. Constant problem-solving. Carrying responsibility for clients, systems, and outcomes, even when you’ve logged off. And that’s where I think Labour Day is still relevant. The original movement was about creating space for life outside of work. Today, the responsibility is making sure our people can actually use that space, mentally, not just physically. That means being realistic about workloads, giving people the ability to properly switch off, and recognising that just because someone isn’t online doesn’t mean they’re not carrying weight from the day. We’ve come a long way from 16-hour shifts. But the principle still stands. Work shouldn’t take everything.

Bryan Rogers reposted thisBryan Rogers reposted thisYou might think your IT is operating effectively, but are you missing the key factors that really matter? In this latest #reddshort, REDD’s CEO Bryan Rogers and COO Chris Herbert challenge you to look beyond stability and ask the tougher questions. Where are the hidden gaps? What inefficiencies are quietly impacting your bottom line? And are you relying too much on the idea that “nothing’s broken”? Remember that IT, like a car, can operate well for a long period... until it unexpectedly fails. The key difference is that in IT, risks are frequently hidden and always changing. This is your cue to move from reactive thinking to a more deliberate, strategic perspective. When you begin to actively observe, question, and manage your IT, you’re not only preventing issues but also enhancing overall performance in your business. Bryan Rogers liked thisBryan Rogers liked thisCanva just gave every business leader a useful AI adoption lesson. Canva reportedly paused normal operations across its 5,300-person global workforce for a week to give employees time to properly focus on AI. That is a bold move, and for a lot of organisations, it simply would not be practical. Customer service still needs to run. Projects still need to move. Clients still need support. Revenue still needs protecting. But the principle behind it matters. At a time when many companies are talking about AI in terms of automation, productivity gains and headcount reduction, Canva seems to be taking a different approach. Upskill the people first. Give them time to learn. Give them space to experiment. Give them permission to rethink how work gets done. AI adoption should not feel like another daunting task tacked onto everyone’s already overloaded workload. Done properly, AI can actually be exciting for teams. It can give people new ways to solve problems, remove repetitive work, test ideas faster and rethink old workflows that have been frustrating them for years. You may not be able to stop the whole business for a week, but you can still create dedicated time for people to step out of business-as-usual and properly understand what these tools can do. Canva’s AI Discovery Week reportedly included more than 60 talks and workshops, speakers from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, and a company-wide hackathon focused on building new AI-enabled workflows. That is not just training. That is organisational muscle-building! AI adoption needs more than a licence, a webinar and vague instructions. If AI is going to reshape the way people work, then leaders need to create real space for people to adapt before the organisation falls behind. If you're looking at building AI into your workflows, do it with your employees. If you need advice on how to do that, comment "Team" below.

Bryan Rogers liked thisBryan Rogers liked thisThere’s a huge push right now for businesses to ‘adopt AI,’ but in most cases we’re solving the wrong problem. The constraint isn’t access to a specific model (be it Claude or Copilot), it’s messy data, fragmented systems, and inconsistent or non existent processes. AI doesn’t fix that. It amplifies it. As a very intelligent associate of mine put it recently, AI is just ‘accelerating stupid.’ If your inputs are unreliable and your workflows aren’t clearly defined, you’re not unlocking value… you’re scaling the gaps. What’s interesting is that many businesses haven’t even mastered basic automation yet, let alone AI. If your processes aren’t mature enough to automate, they’re definitely not ready for AI. The businesses that will actually see results aren’t the ones rushing to adopt the latest tools, they’re the ones doing the hard yards, getting their data and processes in order so AI has something meaningful to work with. 💡

A room full of technology service provider leaders — from across the globe — who chose to show up, be honest, and hold each other to a higher standard. Not because it's easy. Because it's the only way to actually move forward. There were commitments made. Gaps acknowledged. Strategies challenged. And more than a few moments where someone said the thing they hadn't said out loud before. That's what peer mentorship actually looks like. Not a workshop. Not a keynote. A room where you stop going it alone. To every member who was in Tokyo this week — thank you for showing up fully. Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do... there were times I bit off more than I could chew... but I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all and stood tall, And did it, did it my way." I encourage everyone in tough situations at work, and I've had a few over the years, to remember who you are, remember your integrity, your skills and values are appreciated by those around you who you might never have known, but whose life you affected and appreciated you, and by those you have known and whose life you affected and appreciated you. You make a difference. And try to remember how much your and their integrity, skills and values are what make you get up every morning and go in and do it again. Stay safe, hug your loved ones, and keep making a difference.

Bryan Rogers liked thisBryan Rogers liked thisVery grateful that my work gives me opportunities to experience amazing places like Tokyo. What an incredible city. The energy, the food, the culture, the attention to detail, the sheer scale of it… honestly one of the most memorable places I’ve ever visited. Trips like this also remind me how important peer groups and mentors are. One of the best decisions I’ve made over the years was surrounding myself with people who think bigger, challenge ideas, share experiences openly and genuinely want to see others succeed. A big thank you in particular to the TSP Mentor group and everyone involved. Being around smart operators from different backgrounds continues to give me new perspectives and ways of thinking that I genuinely value. The older I get, the more I realise how important environment is. Both the places you experience and the people you surround yourself with. Feeling very grateful after this trip.

🚓 New Zealand Police Modernize Case Management with Appian’s Low-Code Platform New Zealand Police have taken a major step forward in digital transformation, deploying Appian to streamline and modernize case management across all 12 policing districts. The impact has been immediate and substantial — and the numbers speak for themselves. Previously, three separate regional units managed case workflows manually through Outlook, creating duplication, delays, and limited visibility. The new Appian-powered system centralizes all incoming emails and case data, automates workflows, and applies the correct case assignment rules using offence codes, location, and keyword detection. The results are significant: • Turnaround times cut from two weeks to just four hours • Case backlogs reduced from 4,000 to fewer than 50 per shift • Nationwide collaboration enabled in real time • Faster, more accurate responses for the public Superintendent Blair Macdonald highlighted the operational impact: “Our file management was inconsistent, and we identified that technology could streamline our process and support us to work more efficiently. We are delivering a far superior service to the public. Because we are clearing the queue faster, we can redeploy staff to higher-value work and reduce follow-up requests by keeping people informed earlier.” A strong example of how low-code, intelligent automation, and process discipline can transform high-stakes public services. 📖 Read the full story on PEX Network. https://lnkd.in/e5PecqcK

🔐 Is your physical documentation the "weakest link" in your cybersecurity strategy? 🔐 In an era of high-profile data breaches and strict Australian privacy regulations, many organisations focus entirely on digital firewalls while leaving their physical print environment completely exposed. The cost of non-compliance isn't just a financial penalty; it’s a total breach of trust. When sensitive data is printed, it enters a high-risk zone where traditional digital security no longer applies. If you are handling confidential client data, financial records, or sensitive intellectual property, you need to understand how Secure Printing serves as your final line of defence. Is Your ISO 27001 Auditor Bringing Real Value to the Table? In today’s digital-first economy, a tick-box approach to ISO 27001 certification just won’t cut it. Australian organisations need certification auditors who bring insight, rigour, and relevance—and who understand how information security connects to real business risks and compliance obligations. While core skills may be shared across standards like ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, ISO 27001 demands more. Here’s what sets high-performing auditors apart: - Technical capability — In-depth understanding of IT systems, network architecture, access controls, encryption, cloud environments, and cyber threats - Stronger risk focus — Skill in threat modelling, risk evaluation, and treatment, with meaningful engagement in risk registers and control effectiveness - Privacy & confidentiality awareness — Practical knowledge of the Australian Privacy Act, data breach notification obligations, and sector-specific security requirements - Cybersecurity ecosystem fluency — Familiarity with frameworks like the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential Eight, ISO 27701, and ISO 22301 - Digital evidence mindset — Ability to audit system logs, firewall rules, access controls, and security automation—not just procedures and paperwork A great ISO 27001 auditor will help you build trust, meet your compliance needs, and support your security maturity. I’ll show you how each pre-formatted field maps directly to common audit requirements, with simple examples that make it easy to follow. Use the template to standardise evidence, reduce gaps, and hand auditors a clean record every time. Governance fails when accountability is assumed, not assigned. ASD guidance consistently highlights the importance of defined roles and reporting lines in effective cyber risk management.
