About us

CHC provides unmatched helicopter services that enable our customers to reach beyond – to work in remote and challenging destinations that limit others – and come home safely. We are dedicated to our purpose of getting our customers where they need to be, when they need to be there, anywhere in the world – safely and reliably. We are a trusted and reliable offshore transportation partner enabling oil and gas customers to safely reach beyond boundaries to explore and develop in some of the world’s most isolated, deep-water sites. We have decades of experience flying people to and from offshore platforms and vessels in challenging conditions in the remotest environments. For more than five decades, CHC has been providing Search and Rescue (SAR) in challenging and hostile environments – from remote, perilous, and extreme terrains to offshore rescues in the towering swells of the Arctic Circle and the North Sea, the vast Atlantic Ocean, the cyclone-prone tropical waters of the Timor Sea, both sides of the Indian Ocean, and the Caspian Sea. Heli-One, our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) segment, is a global leader in providing these services in support of a range of helicopters. Decades of expertise and excellent, long-standing relationships with leading global helicopter manufacturers make Heli-One the premier rotor wing MRO solution. We are pleased to announce Heli-One (Norway) and VINCORION have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly support the market introduction, certification, integration, and lifecycle support of VINCORION’s next-generation Electrical Rescue Hoist ERH premierV system across multiple helicopter types. VINCORION has been designing and constructing safe and reliable hoist systems for civil and military helicopter operations for more than 40 years. Its new ERH premierV system is designed to lift 303kgs at a speed of 2 meters a second, at distances of 330 feet. It also features a wireless remote-control capability, providing flexibility of use and making it ideal for complex rescue missions and safety critical operations in challenging onshore and offshore environments. Working together, Heli-One and VINCORION aim to reduce technical and operational barriers for operators introducing the ERH premierV system into their fleets. ‘This collaboration reflects Heli-One’s role as an integrator and lifecycle support provider for mission critical helicopter systems,’ said Jens Morten Mørland, Sales Director at Heli-One. ‘Together with VINCORION, we see strong market potential in offering operators a complete package — from certification and installation to long-term MRO solutions — enabling efficient introduction and sustained operation of the hoist system across international markets.' HeliOffshore has released its updated research briefing on Wrong Deck Landings (WDL) in Offshore Helicopter Operations. Developed in collaboration with operators, industry stakeholders, and original researchers, the publication builds on extensive research and operational experience. It provides practical guidance to better understand how these events occur and how they can be prevented. Wrong Deck Landings are a long-standing but underreported safety issue, occurring when a helicopter unintentionally lands on the wrong offshore helideck. These events present a significant safety risk, as the receiving platform may not be prepared to safely manage the landing. The report highlights key risk factors and sets out recommendations across human factors, training, operational procedures, and helideck identification to help reduce the likelihood of recurrence. Jim Evans, Operations Director, HeliOffshore, said: “Strengthening our shared understanding of Wrong Deck Landings is key to reducing their occurrence. By bringing together research and operational experience, this publication helps ensure that lessons are applied consistently across our industry to support safer and more effective operations.” We are grateful to all those who contributed their expertise, and particularly to CHC Helicopter for supporting the wider sharing of their original research commissioned over ten years ago, and Dr Steve Jarvis whose work has been critical in both this briefing and the original report. • For the third year running, Petrobras has recognized our Brazilian division as its top provider for Operational Excellence in Offshore Transportation.   This award follows a rigorous audit by Brazil’s state‑owned energy company, assessing offshore aviation operators against the IOGP 690 international standards for safety, maintenance and operational integrity.   Our continued success reflects CHC’s position as a global leader in safe and reliable helicopter services. With nearly 80 years of experience operating in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments, we have built robust processes, procedures and a mature Safety Management System that drive consistent performance. These global standards are applied across all CHC bases, including our long‑established operations in Brazil.   Gilson Caputo Jr, CHC’s Operations Director – Brazil, said, “We are extremely proud to receive this recognition for the third year in a row. It reflects the strength of our safety culture and the high standards CHC applies across all operations in Brazil and worldwide. I’d like to thank our frontline and support teams whose commitment ensures we deliver outstanding service every day for customers across the region.”   To read the full press release, visit: https://lnkd.in/ed2cX_XA.

  • We’re proud to support Siemens Energy with crew change services to the East Anglia Three wind farm, delivering safe, reliable helicopter operations that help keep this critical project on track. Once completed, the farm - covering an area equivalent to almost 43,000 football pitches - will be capable of powering more than 1.3 million homes. Large‑scale offshore projects like EA3 rely on tight coordination in the air and on the ground. By working closely with ODE Asset Management and Siemens Energy’s logistics partners, we keep the process simple for our passengers and get them where they need to be, safely and on time.

Another CHC Helicopter flight safely dispatched from Norwich Airport, departing on time to support offshore crew changes at JB120, located within the East Anglia Three (EA3) wind farm area located within the UK Southern North Sea. Since October last year, ODE Asset Management, in partnership with Peterson Energy Logistics, has been supporting Siemens Energy through the delivery of an integrated logistics service, combining helicopter operations with end to end aviation coordination. We are now consistently coordinating up to 30 flights per month from East Anglia, providing reliable, disciplined access to offshore helicopter services and removing unnecessary complexity for the project team. This only works when planning, logistics and execution are properly aligned — and when everyone involved is prepared to challenge, not just accept, how things are done. If you’d like to know more about our partnership or would like to have a discussion about how ODE Asset Management might be able to help a current or future project. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss. #OffshoreWind #EnergyLogistics #EnergyTransition #Helicopter

Last month, our Aberdeen team raised £2,500 to be split between two local charities, Lifestars and Aberdeen Cyrenians.   Lifestars aims to improve the skills of local children from all backgrounds. Our colleagues have recently supported their career fairs in local primary schools, and fundraising from CHC employees has contributed to the creation of a new sensory room at Seaton Primary School – a space designed to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.   Aberdeen Cyrenians provides vital support to people in need, focusing on homelessness prevention, wellbeing services and helping people find stability when they need it most.   Last week, we were pleased to welcome Neve McPherson, Founder of Lifestars, and Willie McPherson to our Aberdeen base for a walk‑around and the opportunity to meet members of the team.   A huge thank you to everyone involved in the fundraising efforts, especially Glen Schreuder, Lindsay Lovie, Eilidh Campbell, Teresa McCabe Horne and Mary Yetunde Opaleye fCMgr, to all our colleagues whose continued support makes a real difference to two organisations doing exceptional work in our community. CHC Helicopter has been awarded its first crew change contract supporting a UK carbon capture and storage (CCS) project, marking an expansion of the offshore energy projects the operator supports in the North Sea. Under the 12‑month agreement, it will operate an H175 from its Norwich base to support the Northern Endurance Partnership’s (NEP) operations in the Southern North Sea.    The NEP is developing pioneering offshore CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure that will serve the East Coast Cluster – a group of industrial decarbonisation projects in Teesside and the Humber. The Cluster is expected to capture and store nearly 50% of the UK’s total industrial cluster emissions, helping to decarbonise carbon‑intensive industrial regions. NEP will transport captured CO₂ offshore for permanent storage beneath the North Sea.   Rich Denny, Managing Director, Northern Endurance Partnership, said: “We’re moving ahead at pace with our offshore operations to deliver the UK’s first large-scale CO₂ transportation and storage network. This is critical to decarbonising Teesside and the Humber, creating jobs, strengthening supply chains and building skills. Thank you to CHC for partnering with us on this first CCS project and bringing their proven North Sea aviation capability to a new industry.”    You can find the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/eaT-JzRQ.   Photo credit: Stefano Massini, Deputy Chief Pilot and Captain, CHC Helicopter.

  • Our Dutch team normally fly workers to and from offshore energy installations. But on 18th and 19th April, to mark Kleurrijk Julianadorp – a local festival celebrating the region’s renowned tulip, daffodil and hyacinth fields in bloom – members of the public will have the chance to fly in one of our AW139 aircraft and admire the flower fields from above. It’s an experience, and a view, you won’t forget.   Flights will depart from Den Helder Airport. To learn more about the flights or to book a place, visit https://lnkd.in/epcmgy74.

Hearing directly from the people our crews have helped is one of the greatest reminders of why our work matters. In this video, Tim shares his story after being caught in a fire and suffering severe burns. He and his wife’s gratitude for our Bunbury base crew who brought him to safety says more than any statistic ever could. Good to see he is recovering well and proud of all our colleagues involved in saving his life.

Because of them, Tim is here today 🥹🚁 The moment Tim Haslam came face to face with the crew who saved his life two years ago. Just before Christmas 2023, a fast-moving crop fire tore through his Wheatbelt farm. His ute got stuck, he tried to run for safety… tripped and fell into the flames — leaving him with burns to 38% of his body and a long recovery, including more than 15 surgeries. While crews worked to get him to safety, his wife Sally could only wait and hope for a miracle. Tim and Sally recently reunited with the paramedics and RAC WA Rescue Helicopter crew – sharing memories and finally getting to say thank you  🙏💛
