Lord Briggs from the UKSupremeCourt delivered a keynote at the University of Oxford this week. You can draw a lot simply from the title (AI and Civil Justice: Preparing for the Tsunami).  His Honour warned that civil procedure was caught flat-footed by digitisation. Last week, the US introduced a bill, Research and Oversight of AI in Courts Act of 2026, to require a 15-member judicial task force to assess AI speech-to-text tools across federal courts within 18 months.
