Last week, we partnered with Reconciliation Victoria to host the 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast, bringing colleagues and community together to reflect on what reconciliation looks like in practice. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us to listen and learn. This year’s theme, All In, calls on each of us to commit to reconciliation every day, recognising that lasting change happens when we work together. We were honoured to hear from an inspiring group of speakers, including Sue-Anne Hunter – proud Wurundjeri and Ngurai Illum Wurrung woman and National Commissioner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People – alongside Christine Couzens MLA, Reconciliation Australia CEO Karen Mundine, and Reconciliation Victoria Co‑Chair Professor Andrew Gunstone, PhD. During a Q&A hosted by Uncle Charles Pakana, the conversation explored what ‘All In’ truly means – acknowledging that reconciliation goes beyond words. It requires us to lean into discomfort, challenge ourselves, and take action every day. At ANZ, we are committed to reconciliation and advancing First Nations economic self-determination. Guided by our First Nations Strategy, we continue to focus on financial inclusion, the First Nations economy, and building cultural capability across our business. Thank you to everyone who joined us. The conversations we have – and the actions we take – matter. Watch a recording of the event here: https://lnkd.in/gMNB_JNM

This month marks one year since I became CEO of ANZ. It’s been a period of significant change for our bank and one I’ve found energising, challenging and rewarding. Over the past year, we’ve taken important steps to set ANZ up for the future - including launching our ANZ 2030 strategy and resetting our culture. A highlight has been meeting thousands of our people and customers across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The perspectives they have offered have helped shape our direction and reinforced both the strength of our franchise and the opportunities ahead. The world has changed rapidly over the past 12 months and the role we play as a bank has never been more important. It is a privilege to lead ANZ, a bank with a proud 198-year history, and to serve our customers, support our communities and deliver value for our shareholders.

ANZ has today reopened the doors to its Chinchilla branch, which will now operate five days a week within the Western Downs community. Customers and community members were welcomed into the refreshed branch today, reflecting ANZ’s commitment to supporting regional Queensland. ANZ General Manager Branch Network Queensland, Jackie Auf der Maur, said the decision to reopen the Chinchilla branch would significantly benefit customers. “We know many of our customers value high-quality, face-to-face service. ANZ has been recognised as a ‘Top Performer’ and ‘Best in Class – Procurement’ in Australian Disability Network's 2025 Access and Inclusion Index. Head of ANZ Design Australia and Chair of the ANZ Accessibility Steering Committee, Darren Baird, said the recognition reflects the deliberate steps the bank is taking to embed accessibility into everyday decision-making. “This recognition reflects the steady progress we’ve made to embed accessibility and inclusion into how we operate at ANZ. We’re particularly proud to see ANZ Procurement recognised, because it plays such an important role in shaping inclusive experiences for our customers and employees. “There is always more to do. In celebration of #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re proud to reflect on the incredible impact of our people. In 2025, ANZ and Suncorp Bank volunteers contributed a combined 96,183 hours to community organisations – equivalent to more than 11,764 working days and an estimated $4.5 million in value delivered across the communities we serve.
