We're taking a look at vivo's new V70 series. Earlier, we gave you our impressions of the V70 Elite, so now, let's unbox the vivo V70.

Our unit is the Alpine Grey model, and it comes with a 90W charger, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a simple silicone case.

The Alpine Grey model is a curious shade. Depending on the lighting, it appears a light brown color or a diluted rose shade. In reality, it has a light grey back panel and a slightly darker grey frame.

The phone feels nicely compact in the hand, thanks to its 6.59-inch display and sub-8mm profile.

The vivo V70 has a well-balanced design. All of its surfaces are flat and its corners lightly rounded. Vivo says the aluminum frame has undergone multiple polishing passes, and it shows. Every surface you touch, except for the shiny glass of the display and camera lenses, is subtly matte. It's a refined and premium combination.

Let's move on from the design. Vivo's V-series is also camera-focused, the Zeiss logo on the back alluding to as much. You get a classic triple rear system with a 23mm f/1.9 main camera, an 85mm f/2.7 zoom, both with 50MP sensors, and an 8MP 15mm f/2.2 ultrawide shooter. The trio benefits from a customizable ring flash called the Aura flash.

On the front side, there is a 21mm selfie camera, this one with a 50MP sensor.

We like the vivo V70 in the hand. It has a presence about it. It also reminds us more than a little bit of Oppo's Reno15 Pro, though that phone is a tad smaller and more premium (just a tad, though). Like the Reno, the vivo V70 has a big battery - a 6,500mAh cell that's also durable. Vivo says it doesn't mind extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) one bit, which is always good to know.

The V70 is already on pre-order in places like India, though shipping is scheduled for February 26. Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia are also getting it.
