The big black ring around the display surface (bezels) are totally unnecessary and a waste of valuable on-screen real estate IMHO.

I have no problem going more than all day with my Watch7 watches. So, the Watch9 watches should be similar or better. And, I charge the watch every day or two anyway, when I'm asleep. Plus, I use two of them. Typically, one while at work at the other in the evening and weekends.
And, when I'm sleeping, I use a Galaxy Ring. So, I have no need to wear the watch when I'm sleeping.
Honestly go for watch ultra 2, the battery life is worth it. I have had watch5 44mm edition and charging every other day is absolutely annoying. The worst and most inconvenient battery life, a watch is not a smartphone to have to charge it that much.
msd.ca, 23 Jul 2026There is nothing left to innovate in smart watches. All is a money grab.
save your money and ... moreAfter wearing an analog dumb watch daily, for thirty years, I stopped wearing them in 2001. And, I thought I would never wear a watch again. Until I got an open box Galaxy Active from Best Buy, in 2020. Which made many things much easier than having to look at my phone. It's quicker to just check my Galaxy Watch.
Then I got a Watch4 with a 44mm screen and I've been buying a new Galaxy Watch every year or two. I only wish the screens were a little larger.
But, I could NEVER go back to wearing a dumb watch. That would not work for me anymore.
msd.ca, 23 Jul 2026There is nothing left to innovate in smart watches. All is a money grab. save your money and ... moreCorrect. I agree with you. I have an old Galaxy Watch 4 and everytime I think of upgrading it to a new version, it's not happening, well because of the price. If I can spend a thousand for this watches, I'd rather buy my fave watch brand, Techno Marine.
I was able to place a second pre-order at BestBuy today. I just had to place it for the Silver Version.
So, apparently, you can't have two Watch9 pre-orders of the same color/model.
There is nothing left to innovate in smart watches. All is a money grab.
save your money and get something timeless like omega/rolex.
Steff, 22 Jul 2026it's the same as watch 7
exactly Do you mean Watch8? Because the Watch9 is most definitely not the same as the Watch7.
I'm upgrading my two Watch7 watches because the Watch9 has a new processor. And it is also thinner. But, it is the same thickness as a Watch8.
Steff, 22 Jul 2026it's the same as watch 7 exactly Yeah but with a Snapdeagon chip so I believe battery won't drain as fast as Exynos as Watch 7 or 8 has.
GroovyStarlight, 22 Jul 2026God that they changed to Snapdragon chip, maybe will see a more battery performance and less o... moreI pre-ordered one this morning, from Best Buy. They have $130 trade in for my Watch7 (up from the normal $60). And they give you a $50 gift card for the purchase too. Plus, I get 6% back (based on the $410 price before the trade in) using the Best Buy credit card and Best Buy rewards. And 2% back from TopCashBack.
My only complaint is that Best Buy would not let me do a second pre-order. So, I will need to trade in my other Watch7 after the Watch9 launches.
God that they changed to Snapdragon chip, maybe will see a more battery performance and less on this than on the Exynos. What I was expecting is at least a bit of more storage than 32 GB and 4 GB of RAM. Otherwise, jumping from Exynos to Snapdragon was a wise choice. Way to go Samsung. Waiting to be available.

And they are very costly anyway for what they offer.
I just placed my pre-order for the 44mm Watch9. They are giving me $130 trade in for my Galaxy Watch7 and a $50 gift card. Plus, I get 6% back using my best Buy credit card. And 2% back from TopCashBack.
My only complaint is that it would not let me place two pre-orders. So, I will need to trade in my second Watch7, and purchase another Watch9 after release date. I just hope they still have the extra $70 in trade in credit available. And the gift card.
aaronwt, 20 Jul 2026Does anyone plan on getting the Galaxy Watch9? I plan to replace both of my Galaxy Watch7 watc... moreI mean, its up to you, but personally I wouldn't (speaking as a daily 44mm Galaxy Watch 8 user here). Reason being I think Watch 7 is still relatively new, and (more importantly, at least to me) Watch 7 will also get those new health tracking metrics inside Samsung Health app that will be shipped with One UI 9. I would only upgrade if I'm still on Watch 6, mainly for those new health tracking metrics.
it's the same as watch 7
exactly
Does anyone plan on getting the Galaxy Watch9? I plan to replace both of my Galaxy Watch7 watches. I just hope there are some decent trade in deals at Best Buy. Since I find the Best Buy trade in process much better than Samsungs. Since I can go there in person and it's done in a few minutes. And, after the trade in, I get the new watch too.
