I have never been made disappoint so far using their product. We know what currently is going on. This made Xiaomi going with new approach to face current unpleasant situation which surely won't happen in different situation. For now let's thanks to the massive battery, good screen and good design. If all negative sides found by GSMArena are true in the performance field, the best approach would be to use light Android version like Android Go. If Xiaomi has better alternative, they could surely apply it. My verdict that can help user is this one, that their Redmi 14C model is good for basic tasks plus good for light to mid game like MLBB and Free Fire. When you have time to compare the specs with this Redmi Note 17 and then made aware of the leap on hardwares configurations you will have strong confidence to buy this model.
Really weak gpu i doubt it could run a 3d game above 60fps
very bed mobile hang phone redmi 17 4 gen 5 and this guy note 4 gen 4 bgmi game not gyro gyroscope senser
everything mobile are gyro played but this mobile only one mobile redmi note gyro support bad guys
Same as xiaomi light 11 design.
I saw the Pro yesterday, it's very ugly. Even the plastic looks cheap!
FinestBezels, 18 Aug 2026This features are for the pro. Looooooooooool!!! There's nothing pro-worthy here!
Please bring back 3.5mm jack.

I cannot believe they would sacrifice 4K video capabilities and the ability to capture 108MP photos over battery life and the screen size is literally the size of a small tablet, this is not progression, this is a huge regression and downgrade compared to the Redmi Note 15 5G and not only that a weaker chipset compared to the 15 5G, which basically means it's restricted to 1080p video capabilities, this is basically an older phone marketed as a newer device, what was Xiaomi even thinking? They are clearly doing this just to get you to buy their latest flagship smartphones if you want more advanced features. They have literally applied 2016 mid-range logic to a 2026 mid-range market
Anonymous, 16 Aug 2026It's nice to see this has micro Sd card slot but where is the audio jack and FM radio? No... more"Progress" or more accurately, "F*ck you if you have no internet coverage, now go buy our earbuds that will be complete e-waste when they fail, which may or may not be 5 weeks" happened.
Piku , 13 Aug 2026Another e-waste from mobile brand They could easily make the perfect phone or tablet with all essential features but then who would buy all the other phones ? 🤣
It's nice to see this has micro Sd card slot but where is the audio jack and FM radio? Not too long ago those features were considered standard in every smartphone. What happened?

Wild that the Front Facing shooter is the same 8mp as on 15C.
They could atleast kept the 20mp from last generation .
A battery this size on a low end chipset does not necessarily mean the battery life will be any good, it's only with phones releasing this year that Xiaomi has learned how to optimise things semi well (look at the massive golf between the Poco X7 Pro and X8 Pro and especially the X8 Pro Max for example).
Even compared to the Redmi Note 14, the Redmi Note 17 sees a downgrade in its front camera—dropping to 20MP—and the replacement of stereo speakers with a single speaker. My God, it shouldn't be inferior to its predecessor. which is cheaper than this.. Oh no.
I’m not bashing this new model, but Xiaomi really should have recognized this and created a different variant (such as Redmi Note 17 Max bla bla) with about comparable price;
So glad I got the Poco X7 Pro before this price hike.
Crazy, crazy downgrade from Note 15 5G (6 gen 3).. this chip would be weak even for a basic Redmi 5G. It's shocking really and I guess other brands will follow this trend as well sadly. Let's grab something usable while we can I guess. We're entering the second stage
I mean Redmi 17 got 4 Gen 5 but Note 17 got Gen 4.
Rather confusing...
