Anyway, I'm changing phones every 3 months, I used Mate 60 Pro Plus last year, it was best camera phone I had, and after I also used Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Honor Magic 7 Pro, Vivo X200 Pro, Oppo Find N3, Oppo Find N5 and probably some others I don't remember.
Huawei photos were most balanced - lights, shadows, but also vidid colors. My wife uses now P60 Pro and photos are sometimes better than on my X200 Pro. Yes, we have these phones, and are not bots :) Btw. 5G is working in Huawei outside china, we tested it :)

they can't correctly reproduce certain colors due to the missing green channel and thus have this strange looking tones and color transitions.
i tested it on my pura 70 pro and compared it to my xiaomi 14 and 15 ultra, i took a photo of my computer mouse which has 5 different transitioning led colors.
the huawei results were absolutely terrible, blocky, and with a lot of fringing, whereas the x14 and 15 ultra created a perfect and smooth result.
i speak from experience; just don't get a huawei, it's all marketing blahblah and overhyping from fanboys.

1. I'm not convinced by the camera samples. They still have a very Huawei look that goes all the way back to the P30 Pro and that I've always disliked. Backgrounds are still blown out, overall colour balance is off and detail looks oversharpened (even if it's actually not been).
2. Performance is utterly appalling in 2025. Scrub that, 2022 even. There are $250 handsets that can beat this.
3. Overall meh, overhyped and irrelevant outside China.

The 10x button is their on-screen preset which means that's the focal length they are comfortable with, or in other words it should have optimal processing.
Btw Vivo, Oppo or Xiaomi don't do this. The quality of processing is infinitely better than this garbage. I used X100 Ultra and now using Xiaomi 15 Ultra, there is absolutely no contest between them and Huawei. I don't understand where such a praise for Huawei photo quality is coming from. Some say color accuracy, perhaps white balance is accurate but colors are oversaturated in any profile. Lighting is okay though it can sometimes look overexposed. Details are not that good compared to competition and look artificial at any zoom level. It would have been impressive in 2020. maybe.

Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo do this too at 10x+. It would’ve looked much better at 4.7x if Huawei had just let you use the true focal length instead of this upscaled abomination.
Shamrock Sean, 10 Jul 2025Nothing wrong with Huawei processing https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/reviews/25/huawei-pura-80-ultra-handson/camera1//camera/gsmarena_087.jpg
There is no need to even go to low light shots to see that horrible processing. This is (basically) native focal lenght. Look at this abomination. Everything is plastic. Crop in to the foliage, look at the floor, look at the two people which look like they're straight out of a cartoon or a video game. NATIVE FOCAL LENGTH. Absolutely disgusting and shameful results...

It may not be using the full sensor (12.5 MP out of the full 50 MP) but it still is an optical zoom. What issue do you have with their marketing?
