Aurel, 09 Jul 2025Why OnePlus 13R is selling in EU with 6000 mAh,this phone doesn't apply EU regulation? ... moreSmartphone brands use smaller batteries (e.g., 5200 mAh) in the EU compared to larger ones (e.g., 6000 mAh) outside due to stricter EU shipping regulations, compliance with sustainability laws, and market-specific cost optimizations.
To me this is a downgrade on almost all levels while the new one will most probably cost more than the outgoing one when it was launched. I don't get it (although I do, it's most probably cost & revenue related, the 4 was probably to expensive to make for a mid-ranger). No, this new iteration isn't my cup of tea, especially because the screen grew again compared to the previous one. The smaller battery is a downgrade as well, even if the difference in performance is only slightly lower.
Why OnePlus 13R is selling in EU with 6000 mAh,this phone doesn't apply EU regulation?
And OnePlus Nord 5 can not have at least 6000 mAh?

India gets variant with 1600mAh more at lower price than Europe/Americas.
Ultra lame move from chinese brands ( and Motorola).
Downgraded material from full metallic to plastic/glass
Heavier and bulkier with even a slight battery life downgrade
7+Gen3 to 8sGen3 binned upgrade cpu barely means anything
ufs 4.0 downgraded to ufs 3.1
Camera is slightly better that's all
Feels like a Carl Pei phone
I think only 128GB variant has UUFS 3.1 otherwise its UFS 4
