The only reason why I’m not too keen on this SE (2022) is the screen resolution.
I currently still use an 8 Plus (A1864 RED 256GB) which I bought back in 2021 but it’s starting to get a bit dated as more and more apps require iOS 17 or later.
I was hoping that Apple would make an iPhone with the 8 Plus body/shell and updated internals someday but it looks like that’s not going to happen unfortunately.
I don’t know what my next phone will be. I’m not in a rush to get a new phone but I know I’ll have to get one at some stage. Maybe it’ll be an iPhone 18. Dunno. 🤷♂️
I think this phone is a splendid option in 2025 if you want to have practical yet good device.
It's great as "detox" phone as it has all things you'd need but in a small form factor so you don't use it all day. I use it as a backup phone for my S23, and yes, S23 is miles better but i still find joy in using this little fella. It's pocketable, gets the job done and even camera is pretty solid for 2025. Keep in mind that you can find this phone for 150$ used, so it's not a big price to pay if you want to have little solid iOS device.
Apple should make a new iPhone that’s full-screen (by using an under-display camera to get rid of the notch) and they should also add Touch ID under-display or to the power button or to the back of the phone. Other phones have these features. Come on Apple, you can do it!

This is my daily driver, and it’s pretty good! My only complaint would be the poor battery life. I can get through the day if I don’t use it that much, but a power bank is necessary if used for navigation, or just for a few hours of screen on time.

Sanie, 29 Dec 2022I just bought an iPhone SE ( product) red but it's cameras are on top of one another. Not... moreThe iPhone SE only has one camera. If you mean it has the same Layout but rotated 90 degrees, it could be an iPhone XR. You can see in settings which phone it is. But it could also be a fake one, one can not tell without seeing it.
Anonymous, 21 May 2022The only reason I pick SE 2022 is the battery can be shown on the main screen but 12 mini or 1... moreYes it can on the 13 mini , you just need to put the battery widget on the screen

Anonymous, 25 May 2022Yes, most iPhone users don't like Android anyway because it looks so cluttered, so if you... moreLess cluttered though, if you consider Nokia and occasionally, Lenovo
„The Apple iPhone SE (2022) is the only current iPhone model you can get today with the 'old-school' rounded frame. It is also one of the very few phones on the market that is both compact and curvy.“
And that’s why it’s the best
I just bought an iPhone SE ( product) red but it's cameras are on top of one another. Not side by side as I see in the pics here. Did I get ripped off. I'm having other troubles too. I payed 325.00 for it. Please tell me something good. Ty much
The Se2022 is a good size to fit in your pocket with 5 years of updates and every other iPhone waa more expensive than what I wanted yet it has the a15 chip and if I was to get a reasonable up to date android that is small without being the size of a backpack you are looking at 1.5 times or more the price of se2022. I fit into the I don’t need a lot of frills category and don’t want to live on the phone so no brick size for me and I want to keep it for 5 years. Battery life lasts a day if you are not a heavy user. People are very precious now and expect everything from the world.
Got my iPhone SE (2022) in like new condition the other night. No flaws and for only $150 on OfferUp. I'm getting the same A15 chip as the 13 series and non-Pro 14s.
If you can deal with the outdated design, getting an SE3 for under $200 is the best deal you can find today. I personally hate Face ID as I use my phone a lot in the dark. I drive at night for work. And the notch can get in the way when watching movies or TV shows.
I'm not a big iPhone fan. I only got it because I nearly threw away my Razr 5G by accident. It slipped into a garbage bag after I was cleaning my car's interior and I had to retrieve it from the bin I threw it in. I'll keep my Razr 5G mostly at home for a year since it isn't fully paid off.
SE3 will be my main phone for a year or until House of the Dragon airs in 2024. SE3 will be the last to offer a home button and perhaps Touch ID, LCD, and a sim tray for the U.S. market. The SE4 will look more like the XR with likely the same A15 chip. I had a 12 mini and just HATED Face ID. And games like Forgotton Anne don't play properly on phones with Face ID.
The swipe up gesture can ruin the experience as that also is the same gesture for volume or brightness for Netflix. It's weird that my $150 SE3 has become my most powerful phone I own when I'm only using it temporarily as a main phone for a year. Offers better value than a Duo 1 at the same price.
Even though I'm no iOS fan, if you can spend only $150 on an SE3 with 100% battery health, that's a good investment knowing you will get software support for a minimum of 5 to 6 years. You only need to upgrade twice per decade. A15 will be a beast for years to come if two generations of iPhones used it.
SE3 might be the most underrated iPhone ever made and more people will appreciate it once they realize they hate Face ID and the notch like I do or miss the home button. SE3 will be the last of the mid-2010s classic iPhone design. The SE4 looking like a XR will make us miss Touch ID and appreciate the SE3 once SE4 is released next year.
The last iPhone of its kind?
- Touch ID
- Home button
- Notch-less
- LCD
- Under 140 mm in height
- Sim tray for U.S. models (unlocked mine within 24 hours)
newer SoC also means better secure enclave features than 2nd gen SE
Has this model a feature allowing taking picture/selfie without "touching phone"? Some hand gesture, voice recognition or something?
Anonymous, 15 Jun 2022YesThat's what I am looking for. A dumb phone used only for verbal and text communication.
