Opera for Android updated with a new start page and football hub
Opera has updated its mobile browser on Android with a new design as well as a specialized hub for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.
Starting with the design, the new Opera for Android features a design that is very much based on Chrome for Android. This includes a search bar, an AI mode button, as well as a private browsing mode button. You can also customize your pinned sites here by changing the shapes of their icons.
However, a more relevant update is a new dedicated football hub that can appear here. Fans of the sport can follow the upcoming games by choosing their favorite teams and getting relevant scores directly on the start page in real-time. You can also see schedules and scores for other matches going on and get notifications for them. The AI-powered hub automatically learns from your preferences and adapts over time.
The new design and hub are now available in the latest version of the app.

Well tried both opera and edge. Opera is smoother and faster. And interface is simple.

Read about that today, biggest mistake was allowing it to happen, Chromium and Google should have never get so much power in the browser market. But lazy devs and such made it possible, also users just not caring.
