Samsung Android Rumors

Back in July, the battery capacity of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra was leaked and purported to be rated at 5,534 mAh, which would yield a typical capacity of 5,700 mAh. That's a big jump for Samsung, from the Galaxy S26 Ultra's 5,000 mAh cell, but it's still tiny in this day and age compared to what the Chinese competition is doing.

Today a new rumor from a tipster on X brings us a "what if" scenario. Apparently, Samsung tested a Galaxy S27 Ultra prototype with a 7,000 mAh battery, but in the end decided to stick with the 5,700 mAh to 6,000 mAh range.

While that 7,000 mAh battery sounds awesome, the prototype which housed it had its S Pen removed. Since that's still one of the Ultra's main differentiating features, it's definitely not going to be killed. So the battery capacity will need to take a hit, since there's only so much space inside the phone.

Furthermore, Samsung is said to be conservative with the amount of silicon it uses in the S27 Ultra's battery, to best balance capacity and longevity. So, when it comes to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, expect to see a bigger battery than 5,000 mAh for the first time ever, but don't expect it to directly compete in size with the Chinese device makers.

Please, really read what battery capacity means, what standby means, what SoT means and start making a difference, not just unnecessary calculations. I'm telling you this without any bad feelings. This is not mathematics, where 1+1=2. You ca...

If your random 5000mAh battery gives you 60h of standby, then why 100mAh more (+4%) gives you only 1h more (1.7%)?
